Looking for a home in Rosemeadow?

"Have called cops on neighbours so many times that we're moving..."

I rented in Rosemeadow over 15 years ago and recently moved back to the area (purchased house). Our neighbours beside and behind us play music so loud that the walls vibrate. The neighbour beside us stopped making noise after we complained to the council (providing evidence of multiple police reports) and they sent him a letter telling him to pipe down. He did. The neighbours behind us moved in about 2 months after us. They basically have no concept of courtesy or consideration and play their music at full volume whenever they want. They only turn their music down after a visit from the police. They'll quieten down for a week and then up it starts again. Council letters haven't done anything and the police are just happy to give lots of warnings...their hesitancy to fine complete s@#!heads is a mystery to me. Anyway, we're selling our house because the noise is too much. Will never return to this district. Sure, there are some regular, normal, employed and pleasant people but that hasn't been our experience. It is also very close to Ambarvale and lots of housing commission. Tons of trolleys left out the front of houses, ten year olds riding dirt bikes day and night, kids having kids... I find it really demoralising. There are some well kept streets with descent people but geez... good luck.

Great for

  • Affordable homes for the time being

Not great for

  • No real dining options besides take-away
  • Too close to Ambarvale
  • Parts of it feel very unsafe

"Glad we moved here."

We are lucky we bought a solid house with good parcel of land for a decent price many years ago.
This area has skyrocketed and will certainly continue to climb.

The area seems to be going through a redevelopment phase. Many new estates and house & land packages being built within close proximity.

the local shops have everything you need with 2 of the major shopping centres less then 8 minutes drive away.
This is an awesome suburb to raise a family with many recreational facilities and good schools.

This is a tucked away area and should not be overlooked!

You can still find a nice house on decent block for an affordable price but i have noticed in the last year they are snatched up pretty quick usually within 2 weeks of advertisement.

Great for

  • Surrounded by plenty of schools
  • Short drive to beach
  • Affordable homes for the time being

"A safe and quiet residential area. Street is lovely, homes are well looked after and a very good neighbourhood. This is by far the best area / street our family has lived in!! We plan on living here forever!!"

A quiet leafy suburb with both young and established families. There is a great neighbouhood ambience and in the street where we have lived for over 10 years, off Carbasse Cres, my family has establised great friendships with our neighbours and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. No traffic, close to great eating - Centric, Macarthur Square, Camden, plus clubs, social venues for the children, childcare, movies, theatre, entertainment centre, transport, great schools, gyms nearby, discount shopping outlets, 3 major shopping centres nearby, medical + hospitals and only 1/2 hr from beaches & Wollongong, nearby to M5 and stones throw from Appin & Menangle townships. Everything we want, just perfect!! The occasional koala spotting over the back fence which the kids love!! St Helens Park is a very affordable, safe & sound suburb which is fairly central to everything!

"We L♥ve Rosemeadow!"

We have lived in many suburbs of the Campbelltown Area while renting in the past 9 yrs.
We resided in 4 different parts of Rosemeadow and bought our own home here in 2009.
It is a nice area with good facilities & friendly people.
What most people may not realise is that by majority it is a suburb of working class young families.
For all, but the small area of the "3M Estate" which was an eyesore but is in the process of being redeveloped, i do not have a bad thing to say about the area!
All suburbs have their downfalls but i do not feel any less safe here than anywhere else in Sydney.
Come one, come all :)

"Life is what you make it."

Lived here in Rosemeadow for 23 years, bought into the suburb into a brand new house and land package.
Never had any trouble here, friendly neighbours, good shopping centre, doctors, medical centre with specialist, close to Campbelltown Hospital and Macarthur Square shopping, Beaches 40 mins drive, into the countryside 10 mins drive.
World class eateries on our doorstep, good public transport(Busses and Trains in Campbelltown), public High school and primary schools, private high school in area. Easy access to freeway and to South coast. It's not paradise but it is a nice working class suburb, play parks for the kids, BBQ area and playpark at Rizal Park for the family. It'll do me.

Not sure were your "world class eateries" are? in Campbelltown itself there are some average eateries or are you referring to Rosemeadow's own Macdonalds lol... Rosemeadow Shops do seem to have improved since I left but they had to employ more security to help with the safety problems they had... It has all been documented in the paper but I have seen a fair bit with my own eyes... I didnt walk around with "blinkers" on or avoiding the bad areas all together as I couldnt... :( Some parts of Rosemeadow are alright some are really bad, just because you live in an alright area doesnt make it a good suburb...

Every suburb has its good and bad. Even North Shore. And yes there was a very sad time of terrible anti social behaviour especially from certain housing commission areas. However since the 3M issue of stupidity, those areas have been cleaned up and cleaned out. Thats not to say that Rosemeadow is squeeky clean, I dont think any suburb is without its issues. However I have lived in Rosemeadow for 33yrs. Ive seen the bad and the good and since the clean out of certain people and the clean up of certain areas, Rosemeadow is a lovely suburb. And yes its close to beaches with buses going to them too. There is the local shopping centre which caters for all immediate needs including 2x medical centres. One of which also has Podiatrist and Pathologist. And a Skin Specialist. Good bus service to local areas plus to the beaches and to Macarthur Square and Campbelltown and their corresponding train stations. There is a wide variety of food outlets from typical takeaways to finer dine-in eating throughout the area. With varying tastes for all. Stacks of parks and playgrounds with a water park in production. There are many gyms, aquatic pools, sporting fields, pre-schools etc. Dont over look Rosemeadow. Before buying here or anywhere, notice the neighbours, do they take care of their homes? If so, then likely the street is ok. Buying in the right street can make all the difference. And last of all, being a nice person yourself and greeting people as you walk past or giving way to other drivers or pedestrians although you might have the right of way, or gtting to know your neighbours can show common curtacy and decency. And isnt that what we are all looking for in a neighbourhood?

I know this and I also know it has changed a lot more since the comment which was probably 4-5 years ago now. I know the lower north shore isnt great. I work there now. I actually think Campbelltown and surrounds are a much better area.

Macbeth, from your comment you live in the private area... Yes I always felt alot safer in Airds than Rosemeadow... Id walk around after dark in Airds by myself, in Rosemeadow I made sure I had someone around even during the day... You obviously dont know your whole suburb and tend to stick within your own street and drive a car AROUND the rest of the suburb lol... ROSEMEADOW RIOTS... ENOUGH SAID!!!

One of the best suburbs in Sydney for young familys and retirees . Close to everything youd ever need and you get back you put in . Best value for money housing . We have made a small fortune here in property growth . One of the best Public Schools in the State . A great private School including primary and secondary. Plus a specialised schooled for disability and also a public high school . Has its own shops which have vastly improved over the years . Loved here for 25 years and raised three kids here with no problems. Try to buy south of the shops and you cant go wrong .
