Can people tell me their experiences of early morning traffic when going from Seabrook to Melbourne.

Also, is there any other option other than Point Cook Road.

Can anyone else elaborate on this answer please (I'm from Sydney and weighing the options to transfer to Melb - working in port melb). I know Peter has indicated < 7:30am is most preferable. I notice that there is basically one way into the Seabrook / Point Cook area thus I assume there is a bottle neck regarding this aspect? Thanks

You get a clean run to the city if you leave before 7.30 am. Traffic starts to build at 7.30>+ it is bumper to bumper 8.00 am to 9.00 am>+ . To avoid traffic live infront of Seabrook Primary School

Traffic coming into the Melbourne CBD can be horrific depending on what time you leave in the morning. Early travellers (before 7.30am) will generally find a good swift run into town slowing down once you get over the bridge. Those who leave after 7.30 may find the freeway car park and need to plan with either a favourite radio station, or good CD's on your stereo system / ipad.
Point Cook Road starts to build up early also, so again, leaving early is the key if you want to avoid heavy traffic. Good luck with it.
