Is seddon a safe area to raise a new family?

My wife and i need to make a quick decision about renting in Seddon, we went for a walk over the railway to footscrap shops and it didn't have the warm community feel (looked dodgy actually). There doesn't seem to be many cafe's/shops in Seddon either.
Is this an ok place to raise a new family? Your feedback is appreciated.

I lived in close-by Yarraville and though Seddon was lovely and a great place to raise a family. There are Seddon shops on Charles and Victoria streets including great cafes and specialty shops. What street are you looking to rent on?

Check out the suburb reviews on the site it may have specific street reviews for the street you are considering.

Thankyou Katra, just next to footscray city primary :)

Not too far from the Charles street shops. There are no reviews for Hyde Street Seddon only in Footscray. www.homely.com.au/hyde-st-footscray-maribyrnong-melbourne-greater-victoria
