South West rocks is an amazing community, if this is the place you are looking at? its got a great village feel to it. Many young families venture here to escape the cities. Pre-schools and plenty of Mothers groups as well.

It has a median rental price of around $300 per week.

Taree is a nice town which sadly is denegraded by people who think they are better living by the beach (The coastal areas actually have a bigger drug and break in problem because of subsidised housing - my mum is a drug and alc nurse)Moved here from Merewether, Newcastle and it has really moved forward the past few years with a lot of professionals from Sydney and Newcastle moving here.

It has a lot of lovely cafes and restaurants and a lovely river walk with a park which a lot of families use and an aquatic centre which the kids love. It is also 15 minutes from Wallabi which is a lovely beach and 40 from Crowdy beach, both a great for families. There are a lot of young families and nice schools.

Rentals are not as expensive as other areas but have increased as more money and investors has come. Taree West is a lovely, safe area with a number of families.

Good luck!
