"High ownership makes a difference"

St Andrews is a great family orientated suburb. It is in close proximity to 12 schools (private and public) and approximately six preschools. It has its own comprehensive shopping centre catering to most needs - even includes a vet centre. The fact that most residents own or are purchasing their homes (about 85% ) makes the residents more caring , neighbourly and house proud . St Andrews is centrally located and has access to larger shopping complexes within a few kms as well as transport .

"St Andrews is slowly being destroyed"

Since approximately 2019 the quiet suburb that was St Andrews has gradually degenerated into a hoons paradise. Overly loud cars now use the streets as skid pans and the council and police have failed to curb these actions. Recently a car was speeding and lost control barely avoiding smashing into a house by less than two metres where a baby was sleeping, the car was destroyed along with the fence. What will it take to stop this reckless activity, a fatality?

This comment is totally incorrect and very biased. The suburb is quiet with its own comprehensive shopping centre and it also has a number of good quality schools. It has a nice, peaceful family atmosphere . Although houses are not overly ostentatious - they are generally well presented and tidy with well kept gardens. Prices for say 4 bedroom houses are generally around $950,000 - but can exceed one million for larger homes with more features. Capital growth is also good . My rental property now worth over a million has shown a 500% increase in value in the time I have owned it. Median rent prices are also good for investors - especially for larger 4 bedroom properties. Overall a pleasant , family orientated suburb with good facilities and within a short distance to larger shopping centres as neede.

"Excellent suburb for families and best primary school"

I moved up here 10yrs ago from mascot where I was born and raised and love the peaceful lifestyle here. Excellent suburb for raising children and primary school has an excellent reputation seriously can't fault them. Everything is in close proximity eg. Shopping centres choice of 2 only 5mins drive or 10mins to MacArthur square or if you just want bread and milk or a snack the local IGA is walking distance. Train station is a 2min drive and easy access to M5 and M7. Great suburb for a growing family.

You will love St Andrews. I have lived here for 27 years. Great Value and highly under rated.
The local school is excellent, my 4 children have all gone there. the high schools are also very good and have never had any problems. We do have private schools close bye as well. some of the neighbours kids go and they seem very happy. the shops are very handy affordable and makes life so much easier. I would say go for it.

St Andrews is a nice quiet suburb with friendly neighbours. It is conveniently located with good access to schools and larger shopping centres as well as its own comprehensive shopping centre including a medical centre and veterinary services. St Andrews has been a bit of a real estate "sleeper" - but prices (in line with other Macarthur areas) are showing a very rapid increase . My advice, if you want to live in St Andrews -buy now before prices become unaffordable.

"My Kids Happily Grew Up Here!"

I have lived in Dorrigo Crescent, Bow Bowing NSW for 20 years and find this peaceful, trouble-free, and family oriented street and suburb. My kids happily grew up here. Kids know each other and play together. You would easily spot someone new as families have lived here for a long time. Many fun places to go to and do -- biking on bicycle way inside Bow Bowing Park with no cars around; tennis game at tennis court; socials at community hall, tumbling at parks, etc. I find it easy to live here with train station to airport & Sydney just 10 minutes walk; available day care; primary school just across main road; high school, church & sports ground only a kilometre away.

A green, leafy & tranquil scenery always presents itself each day from the balcony & garden of our house.

I feel safe in this secluded, exclusive estate with only 2 road openings for entrance/exit.

I am proud to invite friends, relatives and anyone else to live here...

"Safe quiet suburb - Friendly family oriented environment"

We have lived here since 2006 and must say overall it has been a very good experience.

Travelling to the city for work everyday is a fine using the train. Toll roads are probably the biggest letdown for anyone living in the west, but if you travel out of peak times the trip is an easy 40min drive. Well worth it if you think about it : Live in a shoe box and less time on the road, OR live in a mansion with 2 lounges 4 bedrooms on a huge block of dirt with your own pool and room for everything for an extra few mins!

As for the area, it is a kid friendly area with plenty of places to take your kids. Taking a daily walk around the residential area is pleasant as the majority of homes are well cared for and maintained on quiet streets away from main traffic. There is also ample open space and hills that give a feeling of freedom.

Great for

  • Peaceful
  • Easy access to M5 & M7

Not great for

  • Under priced & undervalued
  • No Bose store

"Quiet Affordable Suburb"

I lived in Bow Bowing for nearly 10 years before moving closer to Macarthur.
- Neighbours are friendly, the kids in the street all know each other and mingle together after school.
- Suburb is close to the Hume Highway/M5/M7.
- Interline Bus Company runs a service every 30 minutes during the day time to Minto Station.
- There's a large park with playground equipment for families to enjoy.
- Being an elevated suburb with hills, some houses offers great views of the surrounding suburbs and scenic hills riding range.
- Pre-school, Community Centre and Tennis Court at the Suburb.
- If working in the city, closest stations are either Minto or Ingleburn - 5 - 7 minutes drive either way.

If I had my way again, I would not have moved closer to Macarthur and stayed at Bow Bowing.

"We love it here, fabulous location and great neighbours!"

We have lived here 9 years and love it. Walking distance to shops, drs, schools, preschools, station, bus stops and seconds away from the m5. Sounds busy? Definately not, a lovely little suburb really peaceful and neighbours that arent all over you, but are there if needed. Terrific value for money and brilliant access to everywhere. Its only small so not many houses come up for sale here, but if you get the chance jump on it you'll love it!!

"First suburb just outside Sydney, 5 minutes from Casula, without the price tag"

A secluded area with great landscape, tranquil settings and close to M5, M7 and heaps of shopping. Located half way between Liverpool and Campbelltown makes it ideal to work in Sydney and weekend on the south coast. Many considerate families live here, it's like an estate but without body corporate fees / strata (we all know that's a waste of money).
