Reviews of Sunshine Avenue, Mitcham
"A Little Ray of Sunshine in the Suburbs"
Sunshine Avenue is located in the heart of the leafy Melbourne suburb of Mitcham, 20km from the CBD. Running off Creek Road, Sunshine Avenue is a no through road of early 1950's houses that runs into Simpson Park and oval. Here you'll find people walking their dogs, children riding their bikes and the odd game of cricket on a Saturday afternoon. With a mixture of original and new owners, there is a good balance of young couples, families with young children and retirees. People are friendly without being nosy and neighbours look out for one another. You'll often find people working in their front gardens, children playing in the street and many a dog walker making their way to the park. The majority of houses are well kept and with the influx of the next generation moving in, many houses are being renovated and extended.
The street is within walking distance of the train station, bus stops and the Rangeview shopping strip where most locals are on a first name basis with each of the friendly shop keepers - chemist, bakery, fruit shop, butcher, florist, hairdresser, etc. Eastlink also allows easy access to both the city and the bay by car (approx. 20 min in either direction). Multiple quality pre-schools, primary and high schools are within a short distance as well, making Sunshine Avenue a great place to live!
