Where the Average Home Burglary Rate for Victoria is 1 in 73 Homes and for Thornbury it is a high 1 in 44 Homes. Hope that helps.

Very safe. Quiet and friendly. It got a little hairy nearby the train station in the early 2000's during 'peak heroin', but that period is ancient history now as gentrification rolls on.
