Reviews of Tiberius Road, St Andrews Beach

"Quiet and beautiful"

I did the sea change to Tiberius Road over a year ago, and love it here. It's really quiet and friendly. I can go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean.
Like most houses in the street, I'm set back from the road and haven't noticed much traffic, just local tradies heading out to work in the morning and home in the evening. I work from home and find the tranquility really helpful.
Everyone around me is a resident so there aren't any noisy holidaymakers in summer or on weekends. I have occasionally heard some late-night music from further away.
I love finding new tracks to walk to the ocean beach, and can pop into the local shop for milk and bread. It's perfect.

Great for

  • Walk to the beach with no main roads to cross
  • Hear the ocean
  • Friendly neighbours

Not great for

  • Could make you a bit too laid back!

"Relaxed Lifestyle"

We were very surprised by some of the last comments in regards to traffic in Tiberius Road. Working in and around Rye, Tootgarook, Rosebud, Blairgowrie, Sorrento & St Andrews Beach we tend to find St Andrews Beach & the back beach area of Rye to be the quietest over the peak summer period.

The idyllic natural setting offers a relaxed lifestyle that is sought by many attempting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city/suburban existence. Features of the area are numerous and include the very popular St Andrews Beach Golf Club, community hall and tennis courts, a wide selection of world class surf beaches, stunning National Parks, international standard equestrian facilities as well as the ever popular beach rides and of course the amazing Peninsula Hot Springs to name but a few.

"Too busy - partying neighbours everywhere especially holiday times"

Give it a miss. Used to live there and sold up to get away from all the noise. The traffic is getting worse and worse everyday. Be pepared to get to the shops very early in the mornings during holiday times. Mini bikes up and down the road all the time.

Hi Jeanie, I'm surprised at your comments, especially about the "mini-bikes" - I have lived here for six years and have only heard kids on trail bikes once or twice in all that time. As far as you saying that you "sold up to get away from all the noise", I find that laughable. Where did you move to to get away from it all, the west coast of Tassie!?

Jeanie

I am so with you Jeanie. Such an overrated street. We lived there for 15 years. Then all the noise and parties started. Traffice boring up and down the street. Why do you think they had to put speed humps in the road? Because the traffic used to speed dangerously down there. We sold up and moved to Gippsland. Much better place to live. You can keep the beach that is so crowded in summer with all its noisy smelly jetskis. And the loutish behavious of the tourists in summer.

And yes, there were kids on mini bikes quite often roaring up and down Tiberius road.

Yes I suppose Tiberius and Bass Meadows aren't the best streets since they get all the through traffic from Sandy Road and perhaps have more holiday rental properties. I'm in a slightly more remote part and honestly don't hear anything.
There are a lot of half acre and 1 acre properties in the area closer to the beach as the council changed the zoning about 15 years ago which required a consolidation of 3 standard blocks to get a building permit.
