Reviews of Tumbarumba Rd, Batlow

"Peacefull Mountain Town"

We have had the pleasure of living in Batlow now for almost ten years. It is a 30 minute drive from Tumut or Tumbarumba and a lot of people who live in Batlow actually work in these nearby towns. Batlow is a quite little mountain village and is very mild in the summer months and great if you want to escape the summer heat. It usally snows a couple of times a year and in general, recieves a higher rainfall than most towns in the surounding districts. The only downside is the lack of large employers / industry with the majority of people employed in the orcharding businesses however we like it that way as it keeps the town small and peacfull.
We have a grocery store, two clubs, 1 pub, corner store, post office, news agent and two petrol stations as well as two nursury's (I think I have covered them all). Land is currently very cheap in Batlow compared to surounding suburbs and if large industry ever does come to Batlow, real estate prices will skyrocket as they are currently underpriced. If you want to retire - perfect. If you dont mind travelling to work for an ave of 30 mins - perfect.
