"If you like living in a shoe-box"

If you are thinking of getting an old place in Shenton Park and re-building, think again. Shenton Park is part of Subiaco council which has one of the toughest building guidelines in Perth. Most blocks in Shenton Park are small and expensive but the strict building guidelines only allow for small second storeys (20% coverage). This is fine if you're a childless couple or empty nesters but not great for growing families. Many homes in Shenton park are old and shabby because no one wants to waste their money developing these blocks. I am speaking from experience.
