Loganholme

"Family friendly"

My parents have lived in this suburb for 30 years and have never had any problems. Nice parks, the local schools are great, it's clean, friendly and they are surrounded by families and lovely people. There are some lovely riverside parks in the area. Short distance to the M1 and the Gold Coast. There are quite a few gyms in the area and nice places to eat at the Piazza at the Hyperdome including Cactus Jacks, The Coffee Club, Toscanis.

Bellbird Park

"Great for a family"

I lived in Bellbird Park for 2 years before moving to RBP. I loved it, and found it to to be a great place to be with two small children. My kids loved their daycare centre, our neighbours were great and it was nice and quiet at night. Overall, I was very impressed. We had some minor issues with spiders but the real estate agent had a pest treatment done and it did the trick!

Redbank Plains

"RBP local"

I have lived in RBP for 8 years now. Like every suburb, it has some less desirable streets (usually right on main roads) but overall I think it's a great place to live. We live in a quiet cul-de-sac, have great neighbours, and love being so close to the new water park at Springfield (Orion lagoon) and both the Riverlink and Orion shopping centres. I've never felt unsafe and the local parks are great for the kids. Friends of ours just moved here after visiting us in our home on numerous occasions over the past few years. RBP primary has been a great school for my kid. I even have friends that live across the main road, (Eagle Street) from the Henty Drive area that have had no issues, except occasional graffiti at the local park but I guess that's everywhere. The train to the Brisbane CBD takes about 40 minutes and there are a lot of express options. I get to the city quicker than most of my colleagues that live the same distance from the city in the northern and southern directions. I honestly didn't expect to like living here based on what I'd heard. But I was pleasantly surprised, and now I love it. Much nicer than where I used to live (Browns Plains in Logan). We also now have the NBN! Our house will be linked to Springfield via a connection road in 2016 built as part of the Edens Crossing estate so it will only be 5kms away. Can't believe how much infrastructure is being built.

Great for

  • Parks and kids play areas
  • Shops, food, local entertainment, public transport - all close by
  • The Redbank Plains new town square opening with Target, Aldi
  • Whats up and coming to the area

LOVING-IT

Having lived off Highbury Drive for the last 6mths I cannot understand why this area is getting such bad reviews.
Apart from the odd party Friday and Saturday nights the area is lovely and quiet, being a shift worker I am often driving home at 11pm or later and have never noticed anyone walking the streets late at night or cars hooning in the area.
I often walk to the local library or to the local shopping centre and have never once felt scared or apprehensive..

Thanks for your input. I have never actually lived in the Highbury estate myself, was only going by things I'd heard a while ago...and to be fair, I haven't heard anything recently.
