We moved back from QLD 4 years ago and was looking for a clean leafy suburb with nice community feel near the city. We previously lived in Ashgrove and The Gap. We were recommended Manning. It's the best advice we have received.
We have a young family. It suits our needs for multiple choices in daycare kindy schools private and public.

About 7 different bus routes and trains noeth south. Only a few minutes by car to join the freeway north or south. Part of the prestigious City of South Perth Council. The rugby club SPRL at the end of our street (parks) training. There are many things to do. Bowling and card clubs too. Curtin Uni just a few minutes away with bus service 7 days week. People are very nice. We live in Bruning Rd Manning and its a quiet pocket with no problems at all.

Manning is like living in a small community only a few km from city and very easy. I have expat friends who love living here, elderly people and professionals. Tightly held. Best buys are homes on original large blocks (that have not been subdivided.)

Did you know that on Saturday 23rd January the Financial Review Australia wrote an article about hot spots in Australia - suburbs they expect to go to a median house price of $1m in the next couple of years? In the list you would have found MANNING!
The financial review reports that Manning has a higher median price than South Perth counterpart (prob because of the apartments).

What a great suburb. It's close to everything (city/schools/river/shopping) but it's nice that none of the big retailers have set up shop in the area, it helps make the area much more family friendly and more residential.

This is a really nice suburb - alot of facilities, only problems are with the multiple blackspots for mobile phone coverage.
Once a working suburb it has evolved to now encompassing a wide variety of residents from students that go to the local university and families, retiree's etc.

Affordable but prices going up everyday. Alot of interest all round.

Manning road is a thoroughfare, but if you can live with traffic noise it's a good spot. Coles in waterford shopping centre within 500m of Manning and a variety of speciality/food shops.

The nicest things about Ashgrove are simple - clean, green, quiet, good people and quality of life. The schools in Ashgrove are great, there are a lot of different schools to choose from, including private and public, daycare and alternate care. The medical centre in West Ashgrove is old fashioned (service) and the people who seem to live in the suburb never really leave. Prices are very good considering locality to the city and other parts of Brisbane.

Shopping - well you can get most of your day to day shopping in the main precint - Ashgrove - Coles & Woolworths - if you want more of a deli - village style experience head to Paddington Central - for all your foodie delights and even a massage at the beauty therapy salon.

Ashgrove is ideally located to the Milton Business District - handy for new comers to Brisbane who have relocated for work - this is where alot of businesses are opting to set up their corporate offices to avoid the CBD hassles.

Most expats love Ashgrove because of the quality of life and quick access to facilites.
Country folks love it, most of Ashgrove backs onto natural bushland - and is only 5km to the CBD
Aussies love Ashgrove because it's the essence of the much envied Aussie Lifestyle.
Kids love it - mum and dad can get home quicker to spend time with them

Not so good things... well there's always one or two things people will pick up on. When we have heavy downpour then be sure to keep your yard clean and have good drainage - keep tree's safe distance from houses as in the past there has been some pretty wild weather.

Why is Ashgrove so good? It come's down to the people, that live in the area and make the area a home.

If you're looking for somewhere safe, secure, happy, green, clean, tree-hugging, social friendly, convenient - then Ashgrove may be for you!

Welcome to Ashgrove - it's just beautiful!

Good street, easy access to the river at the end of the street. Close walking distance to the bus/train. This is one of Perth's great suburbs that not many people know about - I highly recommend it! It's on the river and close to the city 5km - south perth and opposite Applecross vibrant cafe strip. Best buy inner city!
Redmond street is a nice street and not many houses as half of the strip is occupied by nature reserve and footy oval for Aquinas Boys College.
