Newtown

"Mixed feelings- Good to visit- choose carefully where you live"

Newtown has many fabulous pluses- Location to the city, transport, amazing food and a friendly young alternative feel. However, its not for everyone. Safety is becoming an issue in parts- frequent car and house break ins not to mention the noise of many coming home at 3am. If you are young and you dont have a car..go for it you'll love it! Families and older couples maybe not so much. Georgina st has beautiful terraces and the the newtown festival is loads of fun...as long as you dont live near it

Earlwood

"A fabulous family suburb"

It seems the secret suburb Earlwood has been discovered. For a long time overlooked in favour of dulwich hill & marrickville. Most of the original people to buy here were post war families, most of these wonderful people stayed in the area and many older residents have been there over 60years. Young professionals and other families are now buying into earlwood for the good size art deco /Californian bugalows on amazing blocks of land cheaper than surrounding suburbs and widely available renovators dreams and deceased estates Close to excellent schools and beautiful parks, Its still a very friendly suburb where your neighbours will chat with you and has a real village/community feel. More shops and cafes have recently opened and hopefully that will continue as this place has everything to ensure happy families.

Annandale

"Village serenity in the city"

Am I really only 3km from the city- I can see the city from many streets with amazing vistas and drive there in 5min but I can't hear it.
A wonderful mix of historical and best of modern renovation overall a very friendly, ecclectic up and coming area- Still a sydney secret. Like balmain but with parking! Have a coffee in booth st then Spend a day walking, riding down the many amazing streets to bicentennial park and sit by the water overlooking the city. Simply the best!

Best location as 100m walking distance to booth street shops, cafes, city bus and the pub yet oh so quiet.
