Ivy Street

"Our family grew up in this area we lived in Barnett St for 19 years then moved in to Ivy st next street to the west. as we didnt want to leave our great neighbours and friends! We had kindergartens within walking distance and great parks to take the children to and also lots of children the same ag"

Ivy street is a lovely treelined street, which runs between South rd and Ludstone St. Almost opposite Brighton golf Course. It is in perfect walking distance to public transport, (either end of the street) Kindergartens, private/public schools and walk to 3 parks close by. Dendy Park being just across South Rd great if you also have dogs it is a dog friendly park, also play equipment for children, BBQ's and soccer, football, cricket all available to children and adults to join their clubs! Also lots of trees and birdlife. A great coffee shop just around the corner next to the Kinder and park, milk bar and convenience store within walking distance and a lovely brisk 15 minute walk to Hampton Street, or if you want to venture further 20 - 25 mins to the beach we often rode our bikes or pushed the pram down and had a coffee or wine in Hampton Street/or beach or sometimes even dinner followed by a leisurely walk home on a balmy night!

My immediate neighbours must be some of the best in Hampton. We get together at Christmas and always stop and have a chat to each other, keep a watch on each others homes if away and always help out in any way we can. Our children were born in Barnett Street just the next door street and to this day we still keep incontact with our Barnett St neighbours they are just over the fence. We have the occassional street party and that is where we now see the movement of younger families moving in to our street again. Within the area of our house there would be at least 10 children ranging from 2 - 11 that I know of.
Ivy Street is a quiet street only neighbours are the people that use the street or their friends when visiting. Overall I can highly recommend living in Ivy Street, it is a go ahead street, with new and older established homes and I would predict young families will be dominating this street over the next few years and renovating or establishing new modern homes!!
