We absolutely love South Morang, We have lovely neighbours, its quiet and the houses are spread out, unlike some of the newer estates. Land sizes can vary from 400sqm to 4000sqm in Waterstone Hill. The hills in the morning create a beautiful atmosphere and the air is fresh and clean. Often we get frogs in our back yard and ducks sitting on our front nature strip.
Public transport is now acceptable and will continue to improve until the trainline finally arrives. Road access to Mill Park Lakes is quite good now that the Lakes blvd, Gordens rd, and Ferris st have all been completed and opened. Westfield Shopping Centre is brilliant and it still has 4 more stages to be built. The restaurants are family friendly and are reasonably nice.
The parklands are good and the lookout from the hills is amazing. Local Soccer and football ovals are within walking distance and Marymede College is a fantastic school (prep-year 12)
- The council is poor, and the speed cameras are out revenue raising along Mcdonalds Rd and the Lakes Blvd quite often.
Other than that we love it.
