Jib Court

"Jib Court - 3 minutes stroll to North Haven Beach, 30 seconds stroll to the park, 7 minutes to the station"

Jib Court is beautifully located off Australia II Avenue which is the prettiest street in North Haven with its Norfolk Pine lined wide boulevard. Jib Court has only six loved and cherished homes in it and a park and playground at one end where one can sit and have a picnic whilst watching the children play. The park is also a good spot to watch the cargo ships and passenger liners sail into the Port of Adelaide or berth at Outer Harbour. A leisurely stroll of three minutes takes you up to picturesque North Haven beach and Surf Life Saving Club where you can have a meal or get fit doing Zumba (apart from saving lives of course). From North Haven Beach you can sit on the rocks that form the revetment wall (put there in 1908) of the shipping channel. Do a spot of fishing from the rocks, famous for harbouring salmon trout. As you sun yourself and dream from the rocks you can see down the coast to Largs Bay and Semaphore and watch the leisure craft playing on the ocean, the parasailors scooting along on top of the waves, and the swimmers and surfers enjoying themselves.

The Outer Harbour train station is only a seven minute walk away and trains can whisk you away to Adelaide Station within 40 minutes. Next to the railway station is the 9-hole golf course - another place to get some exercise. Public buses are an alternate means of travel with bus stops all along Lady Ruthven (at the end of Australia II Avenue) and Lady Gowrie Drives. Buses take you to Westfield Shoppingtown West Lakes or to Adelaide City. It takes about 30 minutes in your car to get to Adelaide.

One and All Drive

"Beautiful marina and hills views on one side, and ocean views on the other"

The streetscape is average on the road side but once you get inside the homes and look out, the view is spectacular. The street mostly consists of two-storey townhouses overlooking the water. Houses range in size and quality from very compact to very spacious. The fitouts also vary from basic to very high quality depending on what the home was built for in the first place (to live in or as an investment). More and more of the original town houses are being done up by people who want to live there and enjoy the magnificient views and the peaceful environment.

One and All Drive is well located as a launch pad for walks - around the marina to the parks, the Cruising Yacht Club of SA, the pub, the cafes, the restaurants, the hairdresser. Take in the gorgeous view of the yachts bobbing on the water and the dolphins swimming in the marina. You can also take a walk along the Boardwalk over the sand dunes all the way to Semaphore via Osborne, Taperoo, Largs North, and Largs Bay beaches. Go in the opposite direction and walk to North Haven Beach and the North Haven Surf Life Saving Club. Play golf at the North Haven Golf Club (9 holes).

So, if you live on the Cruising Yacht Club side of One & All Drive you can not only watch the yachts come in and out all day but you also get lovely easterly views of the park across the water, and the Adelaide Hills in the distance. If you live on the western sea side you get lovely views of the ocean dotted with yachts and ships coming into port, and the sunsets over the horizon. Relax with a glass of wine and watch the sunset - how romantic! One & All Drive is a great street in a beautiful village suburb.

North Haven

"Paradise on Earth"

Gulf Point Marina precinct, North Haven is one of the prettiest spots by the sea anywhere in the world. It is Adelaide's best kept secret. We have traveled extensively overseas and visited a lot of seaside towns and marinas so we do have the experience to make comparisons. We love North Haven so much that we have lived here since 1998 and now own two homes in the marina precinct.

North Haven beach is gorgeous. You can fish off the rocks, whilst watching the ships sail into Outer Harbour; or walk on the sand and gaze blissfully at the Adelaide Hills in the background. It is very picturesque. A great way to de-stress.

North Haven is serviced by bus and train with a fast trip into the city only taking 30 minutes. The rail line is soon to be electrified. It is also easy to just walk out your door and board a cruise ship to take you to far-away places. The overseas passenger terminal has just been upgraded and the cruise ship visits are increasing every year.

North Haven's main shopping centre has: train station, Post Office, supermarket, butcher, bakery, fruit and veg shop, chicken/hamburger/fish&chip shop, deli, chemist, discount store, hairdresser, dentist, doctor, physio, etc. There is another doctors' surgery closer to the marina. A smaller shopping complex, The Gulf Point Centre, overlooks the water on the marina and houses the hotel with its bottle shop and a great restaurant. At this shopping centre there is also an Italian restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, and a deli/cafe where people meet and have breakfast by the water. The Gulf Point Centre also has a hairdressing salon, a shop that sells all sorts of things including stuff to sew with, and a beauty parlour for your nails, facials, and waxing. Yacht brokers also ply their trade at the Gulf Point Centre. The Beach Pit is also on the marina and beach side is a great meeting place. It serves meals during the day, but is closed in the evenings.

North Haven has a number of parks with picnic facilities and playground equipment. Every year the Carols by the Marina event is held in the park by the marina. The best recreation of all is watching the Port River dolphins when they make their daily visit to the marina to fish and to play.

What a place! It's fantastic!

North Haven is close to Semaphore suburb which is noisy, crowded and littered during holiday period.

MarinaMagic: You obviously haven't travelled the length and breadth of Australia or you wouldn't have given a 5-star rating on this one! - have you been to NSW Southern Coast where the sand on its beaches are as white as powder? have you been to Whitsunday Island in QLD? Save your gushing breath until you've seen all these places.

I believe he is talking about a review of SA suburb in terms of SA - Ive seen these places quotes above and swam in the waters surrounding where you require to wear a stinger suit 5/7 months of the year (mandatory for tourist trips) to protect from jellyfish.
Semaphore is a 10 minute drive and from North Haven and is not littered with trash as quoted.
Id rather north haven than schoolies in Gold Coast any day
