Somers Drive

"A lot of housing commission in the area, and the problems that go along with them."

I have been in Somers Dr for about 2 years and these are my experiences living in this street.

Part of the street is very nice, but the rest of it I would not buy in. I am hoping this will change with the new subdivisions going in. Neighbours are friendly, but generally keep to themselves near the western end.

Adjoining streets appear to have small backyards, as there seems to be a lot of activity in the front yards. From a barbecue, to a couple of mates sharing a bottle of beer over a wheelie bin.

If you have a young baby, expect your bub to be awakened to the noise of loud trail bikes. Expect any call to the local coppers with a reply of 'what do you expect us to do about it?' Also irresponsible cat owners who fail to lock their cats in at night, who like to mark your territory as theirs with urine, and also try to single handedly destroy any trace of the local wildlife.

Expect the local post office to fail to deliver mail addressed to you, and in fact have someone forge your signature on registered mail items. Expect any complaint to be inadequately investigated from the post office about this.

A light traffic street, where I have seen kids playing cricket on the street in just before dusk. Think one of the more frequently rev heads that sped down the street has left the area, although there are some that still do.

There is also a lot of litter on the streets in and around the housing commission houses in the street, and people don't seem to care about keeping their yards neat and tidy.

In Gloucester Ave there is someone with an extremely loud and intimidating voice that likes to scream obscenities at his neighbours, which can be clearly heard within a couple of hundred metres.
