Bakers Road

"Not half bad but has the Dandenong stigma attached"

We live not to far from Baker's rd....and don't really have any issues, We rent here and the house is tidy and on a decent sized corner block...we do get some main road noise (Gladstone Rd) but its nothing really to worry about..Many of the people here seem to be retirees and families who aren't able to afford somewhere like Berwick or the top side of Pakenham.

We live here because its close to public transport and Dandenong Rd but in regards to the public transport it really doesn't run often enough in the morning, or early enough for that matter on a weekday..one of us works in Beaconsfield and to be honest its easier to walk to a train station than getting a bus....not good for that but in general Dandenong North isn't to bad, its near enough to Mulgrave to feel safe but still feels like Dandenong Centre in places too.

Overall its good to rent and if you can find a decent property then maybe look at buying it other than that to be blunt we'd recommend you look elsewhere, we're planning on doing the same when our lease runs out next year.

Good Points: Close to public transport and Monash Freeway/Dandenong Rd/Eastlink, a good range of local shops and places to eat (so long as you like fast food), quiet neiboughours, close to both Waverley Gardens and Dandenong Plaza for a good range of shopping and groceries.

Bad Points: Public transport generally doesn''t run often enough, some locals are loud, you sometimes hear loud and abusive arguements between people that really get annoying after awhile, mobile coverage can be a pain sometimes too.

Please feel free to contact us if you would like honest answers about Dandenong North and Noble Park from people who are used to living in decent areas interstate...when we moved here we virtually took what we could get and we're happy enough but we wouldn't buy a house here.
