Valley View Rd

"This is my paradise"

All property here is acreage with blocks of land between 2 to 25 acres. It's quiet and nothing bothers me. It's only 15 minutes to good dining in the Blue Mountains, although you will need a car. Nearest town is Lithgow (15 minutes) that provides good facilities for shopping, schools, medical and entertainment. Properties up here are still affordable but don't come up for sale very often. (No one wants to leave).
It does get very cold in Winter and sometimes snows, but that is offset by the pleasant mild Summers that don't get too hot. Best time to look at this place is in October/ November when the Waratahs are in bloom.

"Great place to keep away from"

I lived in the western end of this street for 10 years. This street contains some of the vilest excuses for human beings that happen to inhabit this planet.

Hi MountainMan,

can you go into more detail? What was happing on this street?

Most of the houses in the Western end were Housing Department, and there were constant brawls in the street. One of the tenants was rumoured to be dealing in drugs. The vilest neighbours were actually working people and private tenants. Their house was the congregating area for all sorts of people of questionable charactor, doing frequent burnouts in their cars, getting drunk and fighting.
I was lucky to be able to sell my house and get out.
Children had no respect for anybody else. They frequently damaged property such as breaking windows and damaging plants.

This is a good example of past Government biggest mistakes. By allowing a large concentration of Housing Commission homes in an area, such as Mount Druitt, has resulted in crimes and social problems because a large number of low income, unemployed, uneducated, welfare dependent people living close to one another. I said the best to fix the problem is to spread these people out all over Sydney and beyond, and make people work to own their own homes rather than 'give' them a home in which they going to trash it anyway. When people own their own home, they will be house proud and will look after it.
