Morris Drive

"Good starting point for a new home buyers"

After living here for 4 years, we've found the neighbours to generally be friendly, although there is a great variety in types of people living nearby - from lovely friendly neighbours that invite you over for coffee, to the house with the burnt out car on the front lawn down the street. Neighborhood is being redeveloped slowly, so houses and blocks are getting smaller, but much nicer houses being built so expect value to increase well. At the same time, internet and phone lines seem to struggle to cope, so infrastructure might not be the best. Easy walking distance from a small playground in a very natural little park (ie, nice big trees, no footpaths, grass mowed reasonably often by council), and if you're fit enough, a nice walk to a linear park with sporting facilities and a recently updated playground. Walk home is nearly all uphill, so good exercise. Good community spirit, people almost always smile and say hello as you walk past with the dog/pram.

Road a bit of a thoroughfare at times though, and often hear screeching tires, so would never let kids or animals out the front during peak traffic time or after dark. Some of the people who chat as they go past have some pretty interesting language, so careful around small children. Suspect a few housing trust properties might be tucked away in the neighborhood.

Not sure re Child care, but a number of local schools have a good reputation.
