Sternberg Street

"Sooo close to CBD, just a stroll! And...a nice place to live! Is it Kennington OR is it Bendigo?:)"

All about Sternberg Street (from McIvor Road)...
I often wonder, is it Bendigo or is it Kennington?
*Access to amenities: 10 mins walk to Bendigo Market Place and CBD, also approx' 5 mins walk to large, local Supermarket. There's also a General Store for the unexpected (i.e. ooops "no milk"...no need to get the car)!
*'Other': Dentist, Physio, Doctors, Salons (beauty) all within a couple of blocks. Even has a quiet Family Hotel (counter meals are available)...this hotel appears extremely aware of it's residential neighbours and fortunately closes relatively early, it's generally NOT rough nor noisy.
*Public transport: Buses just a couple of blocks away, Train station is a 10 min walk! Schools are approx' 10 min walk or Uni' 15 mins'. And, a couple minutes drive to Service station; Hardware stores, Video and Takeaway etc.
*Parks/Reserves: If you're seeking some peace & quiet or viewing some wildlife or...just somewhere for the kids to play & run off energy...it's just a stroll to the oval/reserve or, a pretty walk/bike ride along the Creek. Wonderful little niche, where the neighbours look out for one another.
*Traffic: Peak hour traffic between 7am-9am and 4pm-7pm (approx') and is noisy, though very quite throughout the night....I believe it's a fair trade-off, considering ALL of the conveniences and proximity to CBD! On weekends, the traffic is generally busy on Saturday until mid-afternoon. NOTE: all times are approximates only!
A great area if you want CBD living, without the constant "city" hustle! Street parking isn't a problem.
*Environment: A very clean and tidy area, where the residents all appear very thoughtful about their street surroundings.
*Personal experience/s: If you happen to be out in the yard, you may get an "Hi" or a wave from the neighbours or...even a quick chat now and then! And yet, still maintain respect for privacy. We've lived here for a while now and have NO plans to move. The demographic is all well-rounded, it's simply a nice place to live. The area seems quite safe and crime appears not too prevalent here. "Neighborhood Watch" is switched on and, a residential Newsletter also keeps you up-to-date.I truly feel safe and very very happy here!!!
