Carp Street

"A personal view of carp st. bega"

Carp st. in Bega is the same as Princess Highway. There is both residential and commercial establishments. Plenty of car park. Some good old buildings in particular the court house. Plenty of parking space available. There are the usual shops-post office, target, banks, computer shops, pub etc. Both Woolworths and Coles are on the north side of the street set away from the main road. The proposed redevelopment of the woolworths which is still some time away, but will enormously help the shopping scene in Bega, especially will provide as a hub for social life for the young and the old. At the present time, there is no such quality space and therefore weekend activities are nil. Most people are awaiting this development although many other are opposed to it as they fear it will change the character of Bega.
The business activity on carp st. is limited. Therefore the success rates of new businesses will be low unless they are run tightly and in a well targeted manner.
