I have lived in Wonthaggi nearly my whole life, it is a wonderful place to raise children or to retire not ideal for singles unless you are looking for a place with no night life then this would be ideal.
The town it self is good, but needs more shops you have the main supermarkets & a Big W but that's about it. Renting wise it use to be great but due to the building of the desal plant the rent is sky high & in more cases more then melbourne & the houses here are not worth the rise. My children are getting older, & have decided to move to melbourne. As a mother you do feel isolated in Wonthaggi,there isn't much down here for jobs, work & social life. in all it's the people that make Wonthaggi a poor place to live.
