Ivanhoe

"Understated Charm"

Ivanhoe definitely has an understated charm. It provides a plethora of options for the idyllic family friendly lifestyle; quiet tree-lined streets full of beautiful houses, various parks and gardens all throughout this wonderful suburb, great private and public local schools whilst also being within the catchment area of the many great schools of the surrounding area. Ivanhoe also boasts a wonderful village-style strip with great caf's, restaurants and boutique retail outlets.

This leafy suburb in Melbourne's green belt provides a sanctuary of peace and quiet, with friendly residents and shop-owners that give Ivanhoe a sense of community and belonging. Well serviced by public transport and free-flowing arterial roads, this is a safe and friendly area with everything at your doorstep, and only a short 8-10km to Melbourne's CBD. Property in the area remains under-valued for what Ivanhoe has to offer and with all of its' cafe's, shops, schools and parks, it is the ideal suburb for families with children or those preparing for a family.

Vivian Street

"Quiet and Nice Pocket"

Ivanhoe itself is a great suburb, while Vivian Street, in the quiet and nice Southern pocket of the West part of Ivanhoe, is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main shopping strip on Upper Heidelberg Road, yet close enough to be only a short walk away.

You get the best of both worlds in this up-and-coming pocket of Ivanhoe, perfectly suited to young couples, professionals and families with kids. There's an undiscovered-yet-beautiful feel to this South-West pocket of Ivanhoe.

I agree that it is the most affordable part of Ivanhoe. It's a pity the primary school is to capacity as its starting to get hard to get a spot at the school unless you are "in the zone"

Best place to live in Melbourne. Next to the Darabin Creek trail and no idiots speeding around the streets. Its quiet and full of amazing families. Ive lived in Richmond and Kew. This part of Ivanhoe is clearly superior for quality of life and only minutes always from every amenity you could ever want - from world class sport facilities to gold standard medical. With a splash of elite schools, if thats your thing.
