Shearwater Crescent

"7km from the City and overlooking parkland towards the CBD"

I moved from Footscray to Shearwater Crescent in the Edgewater Estate, Maribyrnong 5 years ago to escape the increased traffic levels and pollution in Footscray. I have not been disappointed.

The part of the Crescent I live on faces Merv Hughes Oval and looks at the CBD via Footscray Park and the Maribyrnong River.

The Crescent itself is located 10-100 metres from the Maribyrnong River and 200 metres to Footscray Park which boasts 20 acres of open parkland depending on which end of the Crescent you live on.

Public transport can be accessed either on Cumberland Drive or Fischer Parade, a 20 metre walk away which will take me to either Highpoint Shopping Centre, Footscray station / market / shops or Ascot Vales station.

Shearwater Crescent is 7km from the city. In summer, you can ride a bike (25 mins) or walk (1hr and 15mins) to/from the CBD along the Maribyrnong River, which connects with the Footscray Road bike/walking path.

You can access both the pool and gymnasium at Victoria University, a 400 metre walk away.

Shearwater Crescent is within 20 metres of The Lakehouse right on Maribyrnong River, which currently houses two cafes / restaurants and overlook the water.

The Edgewater Boulevard shopping strip is 400 metres away, which houses a butcher, bakery, organic supplier, deli, Aldi supermarket and a bottle shop.

Everything is close at hand, but not directly on your doorstep ruining the riverside / parkland serenity that is Shearwater Crescent.

Maribyrnong

"7km from the city and surrounded by 30 acres of open parklands... plus a golf course - JUST PERFECT"

I moved from Footscray to the Edgewater Estate, Maribyrnong 5 years ago to escape the increased traffic levels and pollution in Footscray. I have not been disappointed.

Maribyrnong is located 7km north-west of the CBD. The Maribyrnong River flows through the suburb, with suburbs Ascot Vale and Essendon on the opposite side the river. It is a green suburb with access to 6 large parks, including Maribyrnong Park, Coulston Gardens, Pipemakers Park, Henry Turner Reserve, Robert Barrett Reserve and Footscray Park - these open spaces make up approximately 30 acres of open space. There are bike/runnings paths along the river connecting all the parklands.

Grocery shopping can be done at either of Edgewater Estate - Aldi Supermarket or Highpoint Shopping Center -Coles. If you like market shopping, then Footscray Market is a 5 min drive or 15 min tram ride away.

Edgewater Estate boasts its own shopping strip with cafes, a butcher, organic produce, a bakery and Lazy Moe's Restaurant. If you follow Cumberland Drive through the Estate down to the bottom you will meet the Maribyrnong river and find two new restaurants. One owned by a lovely polish man who makes the best food and also a pancake place that I am yet to eat at.

The surrounding private schools (eg Essendon) service the area with private buses to collect/drop off children.

All in all, it is a suburb that caters to a quality lifestyle with excellent services. I couldn’t be happier.

do you mean private buses to collect and drop off children to Essendon school? Please give me the details how to arrange it. Does it take you to Essendon station? Your information is much appreciated.
