"Bent on Bentleigh"
Wow, I did not know so many people review this suburb. I have lived here for many years and all I can say is that it's not the best suburb. Yes I have friends who live in Murrumbeena, Malvern East, Brighton, Highett, Chadstone, Huntingdale and Bentleigh. Comparing the suburbs, this is definitely not one that if I had money, I would buy here, if you know what I mean. I inherited a house from my parents and that's why I live here. Given a choice, I want to live elsewhere. It's a nice suburb, don't get me wrong. Just don't buy a house here thinking it's going to be a great place to live and grow old. It's quite an inconvenient suburb and a little out of the way, parts of it. So are houses here really worth that much? Can't answer that. It's up to the individual. I am thinking of developing my house, tearing it down and build a duplex, then live somewhere else.
Great for
- It's alright, just not the best
Not great for
- Congestion
- Property prices beyond means of local residents
Who lives here?
- Families with kids
"Short Street - Nothing Special"
Agree with most reviewers. Thank God I'm on London Street, but still, there are good parts of London and not so good parts of London. I have lived here for over 20 years and well, I used to cycle around the area and along Delhi St. This is one of the streets that would give me a tingle down my spine every time I cycle here. It's like one of those streets in a serial killer movie or a supernatural movie or a movie where people get abducted. I cannot pin point this but it has a strange dark energy to it. Just one street away, London St is ok. Feels good and has a good vibe. Auckland is fairly alright. Montreal, yeah alright. Durban is not really my cup of tea. Then you have Delhi, a strange looking short street and connects 4 other streets.
Great for
- Nothing good here
Not great for
- Don't walk or cycle here at night....
- Creepy people living here
- Ugly street frontage
Who lives here?
- Country Lovers
Where would you suggest then and based on what criteria?
