Punt Road

"St Kilda without the hassle"

The area of St Kilda Rd between the Junction and St Kilda Town Hall is a great place to live. You have a distinct lack of neighbours (and apart from one section down between Inkerman St and carlisle St) none of the "problems" with junkies and hookers that many in St Kilda have to put up with.

The public transport is great. Close to shops, Albert Park Lake, the dining options of St Kilda, Fitzroy St, Chapel St (Windor end please...). Local shops are great too like Xanghai chinese, the Cafe at 100 St Kilda Rd for coffee, and Out Video at 108 St Kilda Rd, St Kilda for great GLBT and alternative movies.

Raglan Avenue

"Noisy Main Road"

Well we just moved out of Raglan Ave. AND THANK GOD. Not only was it noisy, but you always had pushy Adelaide drivers tailgating you when you try to turn into your driveway. Despite it being a 50 zone, most treated it as a freeway. Hoons love to rev-head along the street at all hours. Glad to be out of there.

(the velodrome and park are nice - and close to Castle Plaza - but thats about it for good points).

Nice precautionary review... what's that big place just to the North of the street? Looks like a school or something.

There is a primary school close by - and other schools in the neighbourhood as well (pre-school thru secondary). Public transport is good - I guess the huge volume of traffic does outweigh the positives of this location like the close access to the city, Marion Shopping Centre, Castle Plaza, parks, Glenelg beach, etc.

Pleasant Avenue

"Close to the city - close to everything"

Half way from the city to Glenelg - and right on the tram. Good shops nearby. Quiet street.

The only street with this name in Adelaide. After the 3rd call centre person for gas, electricity, phone etc telling you what a great street name, you will be over that joke....

I'd like to add that I think the traffic is getting worse, as noted in the last 8 years of living there. Because the street runs between two arterial roads it can be used as a bit of a shortcut, and because cars can get a good "run up" there can be unfortunately quite high speeds reached. With about a dozen young families living directly on Pleasant Avenue itself, I hope that we never have an incident between a child and a car... That said, I enjoy living on Pleasant Avenue, and will continue to do so. I agree with StephenAdam's comments.
