Hoddle Street

"A pleasant surprise"

We bought our house in Hoddle Street in 2008 as "out of towners" only to find that people referred to it as an area that we were later to find out that wasn't one of the better areas in town. We moved in a month later to do some renovations and the area was quiet, apart from New Year's eve which was to be expected really. The street is not a long one so you don't get much traffic and there are some nice trees down our end to give it a bit of character. I think many years ago it had the reputation of being a "Commission Area" but other's like us seem to be buying in and doing a bit of work to the houses and the demographic is definitely changing. As investor's from Melbourne the returns have been pleasing and with the new hospital development and town still being within walking distance, you don't feel removed from "Civilisation".
