Ida Street

"Wow.. Ida Street!!"

Ida street Sans Souci, has two ends, the lucrative eastern side that extends all the way down to famous “Cook Park” and the western end which leads up to “Rocky Point Road”.
Ida street is simply a great street, when I talk about the lucrative eastern end naturally I’m talking about turning left into Ida street off Clareville Avenue, here you will find Million Dollar property with water views of Cook Park toward the” Sandringham Baths” ,this is a very exclusive stretch and tightly held by occupants.
As we travel along Ida street and begin our journey toward the western side you will notice wide open spaces with plenty of green landscape, this is what makes our area so special, the western side shows a mixture of villa’s, modest homes and bigger two story residences.
Ida street is so inviting, if you are ever lucky enough to live here it will probably be your last move!

Great for

  • Leads to the beachfront
  • Great wide street
  • Nice homes

Belmore

"Home to the mighty Bulldogs"

Belmore is a quaint family orientated suburb and carry’s an aura of days gone by, it is located 15Km South West of Sydney C.B.D in the city Canterbury

The main street (Burwood Road)is home to many small business with the large Greek and Lebanese communities reflecting this.
You’ll find Greek cake shops, butchers, fruit shops Lebanese charcoal chicken and various others, many of the shop buildings are period art-deco style which conger up images of yesteryear, Belmore certainly has that old world charm.
The Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs (NRL rugby League team) Leagues club is located in the heart of town and provides a enormous amount of entertainment
Belmore is a quiet part of suburbia where you can purchase modest accommodation at reasonable prices, currently the median house price is $534,000(2010)
With many Californian Bungalows, older style units and villa homes The suburb definitely caters for modest living no need to spend a million Dollars here.
Transport is good with a large Train Station and buses that will deliver you to most parts of Sydney.
If you are after a buzzing metropolis then Belmore isn’t for you, but on the other hand if you are looking to live in the outer suburbs and have dreams of owning your own home complete with white picket fence at a price that won’t break the bank then have a close look at Belmore.

Great for

  • Great shopping
  • Canterbury Leagues club

Sandringham

"My favourite suburb by a country mile"

When I think about Sandringham, thoughts of the fresh smell of the sea breeze, bright sunny days and lots of happy people are conjured up in my mind.
Take a drive down to this hidden gem and you will see why everyone wants to live here and no one wants to sell!
Marvell at the home proud occupants and there impeccably maintained property’s, it’s almost impossible to find a bad home in this suburb.
I often take my family down to the beach ,the water is warm the sand is clean and it’s as quiet as can be.
With wide open park land spaces and the panoramic view of almost unlimited water, where else in Sydney can you find an almost country village style atmosphere in a bayside suburb?
Sandringham as you would expect is an expansive suburb, you can almost certainly expect to pay over a million dollars for the most modest family home with regular 2br apartments selling for around Half a Million.
The suburb continues to surprise with regular record sales, probably contributing to this is the fact that buyers out number sellers by about 20 to 1 or more !

Half of the suburb is made up of beach front mansions and considerable modern homes, also available are a very small amount of apartments , villas and townhouses.
The residents of Sandringham are some of the nicest most friendliest people I have ever met, if you are lucky enough to reside in this exclusive suburb one day you know you’ve made it.

Great for

  • Beach, wide streets, beach front homes

Dolls Point

"Southern Sydneys hidden secret"

Dolls Point is a sleepy beachside suburb in southern Sydney and has excellent access to the airport and Sydney C.B.D (Approx 15 Min Drive)
Dolls Point provides modest to grand and everything in between living options and its residents are amongst the friendliest folk i have ever come across, the suburb provides for a lot of attractions including most water sports like sailing snorkelling and other activities.
Famous Peter Depeena Reserve is located in the heart of Dolls Point, a popular picnic facility were people from all across Sydney visit specifically on a weekend to enjoy all the area has to offer, but unlike all other beachside suburbs Dolls Point remains uncluttered with no high rise development and wide open spaces so it’s perfect for family’s and especially children.
House prices are expansive, its virtually impossible now to buy any house under one Million Dollars with older style units increasing in value all the time expect to pay around Half a Million for a nice one.
With new trendy cafes opening and other new business’s Dolls Point is perfectly poised for even more future growth and in my opinion if it wasn’t such a secret Dolls Point would rank among some of the best suburbs in Sydney.

Lemon Tree Passage

"LITTLE COUNTRY TOWN ON THE PENINSULA"

Lemon Tree Passage is a suburb of the Port Stephens Local Government Area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, located at the end of the Tilligerry Peninsula and surrounded by the waters of Port Stephens.
It is a haven for koalas due to it being densely wooded. The town has a small marina and the local industry is oyster farming.

The suburb is separated from nearby Bulls Island by a small strait which is also known as Lemon Tree Passage.

The town is small and quaint, I went for a drive here while holidaying in Nelson Bay recently and it was well worth the trip, Lemon Tree Passage is a sleepy little country town where you can enjoy fish and chips for lunch on the marina or a spot of fishing, its a picturesque village style environment.
You will notice the “laid back” attitude of locals and the serene sense the minute you arrive.

Nelson Bay

"THE BLUE WATER WONDERLAND"

I doubt there is a person in Sydney that hasn’t already discovered Nelson Bay, but if by chance you haven’t been then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?????
Only a very scienic 3 hour Drive from Sydney ,In my humble opinion this is one of the greatest places on earth! Whether you want to live here or holiday here Nelson Bay provides for all the must have amenities and loads more.
There are lots of Crystal clear unspoilt beaches to choose from heaps of shops and places of interest to discover.
The people of Nelson Bay are sooo friendly, if you happen to run into a smiling local before noon it is most likely you are greeted with a heartfelt “Good morning”.
The food here is amazing to, choose from a wide selection of restaurants or visit any number of local farms and buy fresh produce to cook at home yourself, the meat you will buy is also fantastic not sure why but if you are used to the cardboard we put up with here in Sydney, your tastebuds will dance when you sample the food. Seasonal fruit is also grown by locals on large acreage farms most famously the “Bakkers Farm Peach” located on Nelson Bay Road next door to the Golf Range.

What I like most about Nelson Bay is its proximity to many other neighbouring smaller towns that you can visit for a change, 5 minutes up the road you will find SHOAL BAY, another 5 min past shoal bay you will find FINGAL BAY heading in the opposite direction you will stumble across pretty little areas such as Corlette,Dutchmans Bay,Little Beach, Bobs Farm, Anna Bay, Soldiers Point, Tanilba Bay, Lemon Tree Passage and the most popular of all...SALAMANDER BAY! Naturally Salamander Bay is popular because it is home to the largest Shopping Centre in Port Stephens and you can drive there from Nelson Bay in only 5 Minutes EVERYTHING IN NELSON BAY IS ONLY 5 MINUTES AWAY!

Not convinced yet? Ok why not visit the winery and sample fine cheeses and the local wine or take the family on a Dolphin Cruise or if you are a keen Golfer, experience some award winning courses all that your finger tips.
Let’s look at SOME of the other activity’s as if I haven’t mentioned enough already!

*Dizzyland Event Park & Family Amusement Centre
*Fighter World Inc
*Australian Shark and Ray Centre
*Port Stephens Shell Museum
*Port Stephens Community Arts Centre
*Port Stephens - Great Lakes Marine Park
*Oakvale Farm & Fauna World
*Nelson Head Inner Lighthouse Cottage
*Hunter Regional Botanic Gardens

So you see, with all this to do combined with the great food wonderful friendly people and not forgetting the world class beaches Nelson Bay is a 5 Star Destination, I’ve been coming here for 20 years and can’t recommend it highly enough.

Port Douglas

"Peace on Earth"

I visited Port Douglas recently on my honeymoon, and I must say at 27 degrees everyday of the week in the middle of winter we could not have picked a better place to go and relax.
The word Paradise is thrown around a lot these days but there is no better word to describe this place it’s a gorgeous part of the world.
We stayed in the “Shantara Resort and Spa” only a hop skip and a jump from “Macrossan” Street, the main street in Port Douglas and it was wall to wall luxury, felt like it was costing me $1000 and hour to breath there but at $1,350 for a week’s stay I make this a MUST DO!
Majestic Pool and b.b,q area, friendly staff willing to meet your every whim and want, beautiful ultra modern interiors and facilities, gym, spa, massage this must be heaven.
Take a stroll down to the “Hub” in Macrossan street and sample any number of 5 star restaurants and cafes the food in this place is amazing! You can’t get a bad meal anywhere.
Very famous people such as ex American president Bill Clinton have eaten in these restaurants, look for their photos along with the Hollywood actors that have visited.
There is also so much to do out of town, with a drive down to “Mossman Gorge” you will discover peace on earth in the tropical rain forest that has been preserved and its pristine waters can be drank, its that’s clean! With Tarzan vines hanging from the tree canopy’s , waterfalls , rivers and the like this truly is a post card setting.

Other places to Google and visit include,

*The Great Barrier Reef
*Cape Tribulation
*Cairns
*Atherton Tablelands
*Palm Cove

While you’re in Port Douglas go down to the “Groper Bar” on the marina and order a bucket of fresh prawns ($18 with a free drink) and watch George the massive 200 kilo groper being fed at around 5:00pm daily it’s a great experience.
Another must do is the visit a shop called "Blood Orange" located in a street behind Macrossan street next to the Hertz car rental office, here you will find fresh homemade yogurts, exotic tropical fruits and fresh meat and vegies I visited this shop daily it is magnificent!
While driving into Port Douglas from Cairns international airport you will be surrounded and immersed in the Coral sea that borders the road in and out, there are so many beach’s in the area that most lay dormant and un inhabited, with palm trees leaning over the surf.....ahhhhhh its heaven on earth.

Redbank Plains

"Modest suburban living"

Redbank Plains is an eastern suburb of Ipswich in Queensland, Redbank Plains is a working class suburb that provides very modest housing and living standards. The suburb contains a high concentration of housing commission accommodation and because of this if you are thinking of moving here you would be best advised to avoid those streets.
The suburb has also suffered from stagnant capital growth, and some people have reported difficulty in locating decant tenants to occupy there investments.
Some parts of the suburb are also prone to floods

I may have been a little kind to Redbank Plains in my review, was up there again recently on Business....This place is absolutely terrible!
Kids are uncontrollable hooligans the streets are filthy. Thinking of Buying in Redbank Plains?.......DONT !

I am disgusted that a Real Estate agent like yourself can say things like this ...Now I know who not to go through in the future. I am disturbed that you can be so narrow minded and I bet you are an agent who tells their clients to reduce their rent in the area too.

ErinS

The comments above re the kids in this suburb must be a broad generalisation based on limited experience. My kids, and their friends from RBP primary are all lovely, well-mannered children. The streets in and around my house certainly aren't filthy either for that matter.

melly1984

I would Just like to say that i find your comments, Adam to be extremely discrimitory, not every one who lives in housing are bad, infact i live in housing, i am the only housing in the WHOLE of my street, i get along with all my neighbours except the people who live over the back, they are the ones who hurl abuse at my extremely WELL BEHAVED, WELL MANNERED CHILDREN, their father and myself, after the constant harrassment from these homeowners, whom i can only suggest are as ignorant as you are, or hold some personal vendetta for the majority of australians struggling, WE have been left with only one decission, and that is to up root our 5 children from a home and community they have become attached to. People like you are what is wrong with society, absolutely disgusted and appalled that you could openly admit what is either your hatred, or insensitivity towards those that are less fortunate, or temporarly struggling. NEWSFLASH: Bad neighbours can come from both sides of the fence.

melly1984

P.S Using generalisations such as , "apples are nice" is ok, but choose your words carefully when discussing certain topics, People do not liked to be boxed into a narrow minded persons way of thinking!

People cant seem to accept that this is a forum for opinions, mine just happens to hold a liite more water as i am a property professional. Yes i was generlising but people like to know whats really going on in suburbs not just the opinions of people that have biased and vested interest such as people who own in a suburb or live there. i am pleased with my comments and stand by them

chris_and_niki
chris_and_niki

Trees opinions are one thing but to say your a property agent and 'professional' at that then maybe you should consider taking a professional approach. You have made it pretty clear that you don't like the area so maybe you should accept that people live here. This might be the area that they truly admire. What suburb do you live it so I can compare your assumptions?

FireandiceS

Hmmm it seems that Trollnleave's enjoys all the attention by blogging and trolling nonsensical trash of no substance. Another egotistical wannabe Agent that was dragged up not raised up hahaha

We relied on the advice of Financial advisors when we purchased our first investment property in Redbank Plains. We have been very fortunate as our tenants take wonderful care of the property and are never late with payments. You are correct in that property values have fallen dramatically since our purchase in 2010 and I am saddened to hear it may be a suburb considered as undesirable. My hope is that values will increase in time. Time will tell!

Ramsgate Beach

"Beautiful Water Wonderland!"

Ramsgate is a very colorful suburb, in spring the local council plants beautiful flowers up and down the main strip which highlights the blue water back drop.
Housing is very affordable for a beachside suburb and locals enjoy the cafe lifestyle that Ramsgate shopping village provides, as you drive down Ramsgate road the suburb is a hype of activity with locals and visitors enjoying the park, beach and shopping facilities all central in this quaint family orientated suburb.
I have sold many property’s in Ramsgate in my time, including units, villas, homes and even vacant land, 2009 has been a good year for Ramsgate with substantial gains in property values witnessed as opposed to previous years.
If you are looking for an affordable sea change Ramsgate could be the area for you!

"Nothing under a million dollars here...."

Skinners Avenue is one of my favourite streets in Dolls Point.
Down the road from Peter Depeena Reserve, go for a walk and you’ll fall instantly in love with this fantastically quiet residential street.
Some homes in this street (Southern end) provide amazing beach views and those that don’t still command million dollar price tags.
Every home is well cared for each and every owner is house proud and you’d swear blind they trim there lawns with nail clippers!
This is a super street located right beside the beach, park and every thing else Dolls Point has to offer, I regularly see a couple of elderly residents
Cross the street and throw there fishing line in the water, while resting on the clean golden sand.
Skinners Avenue is located behind the famous heritage listed “primrose house”
I’ll live here one day.........

Horsley Park

"Rural living close to major towns"

Horsley Park is a picturesque semi rural suburb in western Sydney, best known for the “Country” lifestyle it provides yet only 10 minutes drive to major shopping centres and well established residential suburbs such as Bossley Park and Wetherill park .
Horsley Park provides a mix of mostly 2.5 acre and 5 acre lots with substantial homes, the suburb is complemented by the mountains as a majestic back drop .
Be careful if purchasing in the suburb, there are a lot of acreage affected by easements most notably high voltage power line easements and other blocks may be prone to flooding blocks with affectation are much less desirable and command a much lower selling price.
In my role as a Senior Sales Agent for Marando Real Estate I was responsible for many sales in this highly popular area, Marando Real Estate in Fairfield are highly recommended when selling in the suburb, they are considered the only agent to deal with selling approx 4 in every 5 transactions recorded in the suburb.
If you are interested in my Top 10 street picks, here they are in order,

1/ Koala Way
2/Garfield Road
3/Capitol Hill Drive
4/The Appian Way
5/Washington Way
6/Green way Place
7/Walworth Road
8/Felton Street
9/Brolen Way
10/ Jamieson Road

As you drive into Horsley Park after travelling along The Horsley Drive to get there ,you will notice a small village style concentration of family run businesses
a gun shop, post office, pub, lawn mower repair and other stores provided essentials for locals without having to travel far.
Located behind the shops you’ll find “Our Lady of Victories” Catholic church in Felton Street, the church also has a private primary school which has a very good reputation among locals with “Horsley Park Public School” located on entry to the suburb on the Horsley Drive being the alternative.
The most notable landmark in this exclusive suburb is the equestrian centre, purposely build for Sydney 2000 Olympics, the centre is still used to this day for equestrian events.
Horsley Park has a significant proportion of older residents, most people have lived and worked farms for decades including market gardens, chicken farms and other hobby farms the area has a majority European population, people from Italian and Maltese decent make up a large portion of residents.
Many successful local business people from Fairfield to Liverpool call Horsley park home, the sprawling mansions built as a sign to their achievements.
A newer subdivision known as “Capitol Hill” was established in the 90’s and is an extension of Horsley Park, here you will find newer homes naturally most are under 20 years of age. Capitol Hill as its name suggests sits on a high commanding hill, distant views to the Blue Mountains and fresh clear air make living here a pleasure.
