Portrush Road

"Very noisy but still a great central location and afforable way into the neighborhood"

The negative is its trucks and constant traffic. However inside many of the houses you can't hear the noise it is really just annoying on the footpath and front gardens. The positive well and truly outweigh this. It is only 6k to city, well serviced by regular buses and there are great shops and schools nearby. You can walk to the Parade for coffee. It is an affordable way to live in the Eastern suburbs and take advantage of the schools etc.

"Central comfortable great location"

Quiet street yet close to Parade, 1 min walk. Loved living there. Would recommend it to anyone.

"close to town but busy road"

This was a really convinent place to live, easy trip into town but it was noisy and a bit rough at times for the Eastern suburbs. I liked to ride to the river which isn't far away

"Public transport good, affordable"

This was an affordable place to live but it felt a bit remote to me. The public transport was good and the street was quiet enough. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either.

"Close to town but.."

Very close to town, I enjoyed living here. But many drivers use it as a route to avoid the Britannia roundabout so for a street that's meant to be quiet it is busy. Plus a lot of cars seemed to get stolen (only ones parked on the street) during the 3 years we lived there. And during clipsal it is a nightmare, cars, hoons bogans terrible - unless of course you are into the Clipsal and I guess you could walk there!

Brook Street

"perfect location"

Close to town, Mitcham shops, cinema, great city/sea views, great childcare and schools. Fab reserves and walking tracks surrounding. Being close to the train line makes travel to the city really quick/easy much nicer than taking buses. Like most inner city routes Unley Rd gets pretty busy in peak so train trip into town is very desirable. Nice walk to local shops (Mitcham) easy on the way there, a bit harder on the way back up the slope.
