Kilmurray Way

"Kilmurray Way, my first house"

I grew up in this area, and had no problems. So when it came time to purchasey first house I knew I would buy here. My family are builders so originally I was going to build town houses on my block, but after renovating my house and pulling up my carpet to expose my beautifully polished boards beneath I decided to keep my house as a house and do it up.

This is a great street, beautifully maintained parks are just around the corner. You have easy access to the main ateries ie: beach road, wanner road, Reid hwy and the freeway. I love being 15 minutes from the beach, 15 from the city, 15 from the airport etc. It is so central and I love that I can just jump in my car and be anywhere in a few minutes. Taxis are always quick as you are near the main roads, and public transport is at both ends of this street.

They have new townhouses and units in this street with great tenants/owners and only one rental that I am aware of and they are a family and no trouble at all.

Malaga is up the road, Warwick is up the road, everything is a hop skip and a jump away.

It's a great street and I am glad I brought here, as the other owners/ tenants are either families or professionals.

It has the country feel as when I walk my dog most mornings/ evenings everyone says a hello as I pas by.

I would totally recommend this for first home buyers, families, retirees pretty much anyone who wants a cheerful friendly community to live in.

Hope this helps :)

Balga

"Balga, the place to be"

I have lived in Balga for just shy of 30years and I have never been broken in to or had any problems. I get quite frustrated with the media portraying it how they do. You will find the majority of the time it is the surrounding areas where the problems are yet they call it Balga. It is 15 minutes to the airport, 15 mins to the beach, 15/20 mins to CBD. You have great access to the main ateries ie: Reid hwy, freeway etc.

A lot of the old Homes West houses are being sold which is resulting in townhouses etc being built or they are being renovated and lived in by families.

The parks are beautiful and well looked after. The one and only down side I can place with this area is the Balga Plaza. Most locals don't shop there as is tacky and dodgey. I was annoyed years ago when they got rid of the Fieldgate square shops as they were clean and well looked after and felt they should of got rid of the westminister/Balga plaza complex as that was the one no one went too, due to it being dirty.

I love being so central, it's great to be so close to everything. I have a huge block so my staffy has heaps of room to play, and the park is just around the corner so he has many friend he plays with daily.

Most of my street are renovated military houses, or brand new townhouses. I have one house on this street which is a rental and they are lovely.

It is a great suburb, but I just wish it would lose the stigma that's attached to it. It doesn't help that we have a great gym next to dan murphys at feildgate square that won't even say their location is Balga, they say it's Warwick. When I asked why, they said that the 'members' didn't like saying they went to a gym in Balga.

It's a shame, at this rate the name will never lose the stigma :(

Given the opportunity, I would be Out of Balga like a shot. There is about as much Excitement as a Morgue. And NO where to Socialise. The Developers have demolished Every Tavern within walking distance.Which means you run the risk of Drink Driving. Public transport is an Absolute Embarrassment. The wife and I and our three children have lived in Balga for near on 40 years.
