Cheltenham

"Amazing neighbourhood"

Awesome suburb. Everything you could possibly imagine is within walking distance.

Nothing like Cheltenham in NSW which has a high crime rate.

Great for

  • Close to everything, the beach, shopping, good schools, parks

I disagree, I walk past Mayne street regularly and also live nearby, as to safety I don't feel unsafe. As for air plane noise that only generally affects areas on the Heatherton side of Warrigal Road and I would not be surprised there are complaints as it would be load. I live near Warrigal road on the Southland side and don't have any problems of air plane noise. Don't get me wrong there is the occasional plane as for noise generated its miniscule at best.

As for schools if you don’t like one there are plenty to choose from in the area.

Carol is Cheltenham really a one star suburb? 5 minutes from some of the best schools in the state, 5 minutes from some of Melbourne's best suburban beaches, fantastic parks/play equipment, top swim schools, great shopping, family friendly neighbourhood (apart from your street lol), 30 minutes from the city, safe (apart from your street), express station to the city and so on and so forth. If Cheltenham is a one star suburb i would hate to see the star rating what you'd give to suburbs like Frankston, Narre Warren, Dandenong, Lynbrook and Cranbourne etc etc.
