My partner and I have lived in north Richmond for about 4 years. We like Richmond but due to the safety, junkies and drug problem we are moving out. We have had numerous safety issues while we have lived here- guys with baseball bats trying to rob an apartment in the complex we live, junkies climbing over fences and breaking into my neighbours unit, drug affected people trying to come into our garage when we are leaving, people shooting up often in the lane behind our place in full view of us and families. We have had to install cameras in our place as well.
It is very sad what the injecting room has brought to the area. There has been a big increase in this sort of stuff since it arrived. The injecting room has increased the number of drug users and seedy people to the area... I wouldn’t recommend living in a North Richmond. I’m sure if you live in Richmond Hill or Cremorne it is totally different I’m sure.
