Esplanade West

"Half is great, half is not so great."

Esplanade W in Port Melbourne is a little bit disappointing I think. You would think it would be quite spectacular being so close to Edwards Park, and just across the road is the beautiful Esplanade E. I think the bottom line is that there a few renovation jobs that need to happen here. As you move closer to the beach however there are some nice apartments. Location is great though, as are most of the streets in Port Melbourne, but I think you can do better. It will get better with time, one to watch in the next 10 years, especially on the north side of Graham Street.

Bridge Street

"Amazing access to the Beach, Port Melbourne Shopping and the Melbourne CBD"

Bridge Street Port Melbourne runs right through the center of this fantastic upper class living suburb. is a very wide street with on street parking more than available. Great greenery, a few 2 story townhouses, and mostly inviting. Location has to be the best part of Bridge Street as you have fantastic access to Bay Street and Albert Park.

Spring St

"Spring Street treet has it all - location location location"

Spring Street Port Melbourne runs just off Bay Street. A number of townhouses are being developed, a bit squishy but mostly weatherboard\terrace style frontages.

Fantastic greenery in this street makes it feel very cosy, and there is always on street parking available.

Being just off Bay Street, the location is ideal for those in Port Melbourne wanting to be a little bit away from the beach, without sacrificing closeness to shops. This is a very hard street to fault. OVerall, a great street in Port Melbourne.

Donaldson Street

"Laneway street, nothing special."

Laneway thoroughfare type street, great location, but that's about it. Quite narrow, and nothing out of the ordinary. Not many people live here as it's quite small as well.

Stokes Street

"Great location, great suburb, can't go wrong."

Stokes street in Port Melbourne is a real up and coming street in Port Melbourne. It is divided into two sections by Graham Street, and the side closest to the beach has the most potential.

Most of the houses are brick and weatherboard terrace style homes, and a lot have gone through some major renovations in the past couple of years making it quite a visually appealing street. It's is a wide street with plenty of on street parking with a church as well on the corner of Rouse Street.

On of the reasons I say this is going to be one of the best streets in Port Melbourne in a few years is because of the developments that are going on here, such as the Stokes Terraces apartment complex. This coupled with the fantastic location (so close to Bay street and walking distance to the beach) makes it one to watch out for.

Narooma Place

"Clean and cute"

Narooma Place is a cute street towards the back side of the Beacon Cove, that has the added benefit of being extremely secluded compared to the others in Beacon Cove. The houses are very similar to the some of the other streets in the area in terms of design and this can be a little bit of a deterrent. The front yards could be better though for the area, and need some work.

Location has to be one of the best as is within walking distance to the tram lines nearby, but not so close that there is graffiti all down the street like Canberra Parade and Tom Hills Ct.

Princes St

"Nice location, and visually attaractive. Can't go wrong in Princes Street."

Princes Street is a little bit of thoroughfare road on the beach side of Port Melbourne, as people often turn before the on ramp to Graham Street. Mostly brick houses and quite a nice friendly street.

As you get closer to the Beach however, it gets extremely beautiful, very friendly as well. Often you can see the Spirit of Tasmania docked, and the closeness to amenities is second to none. The London hotel is a usual drinking hole, as it the Pier nearby. There are a few run down properties that would be a great grab for any property developer, see keep an eye out in the coming years!

Heath Street

"Nice location, but that's about it"

A very wide street, visually rundown and not very appealing. It does run parallel to Bay Street, which is good for restaurants etc, but purely from walking the street, I personally would not want to live here as it is not that visually appealing.

Ross Street

"There are better in Port Melbourne"

Ross St in Port Melbourne is quite a wide street, and being only two streets away from Clarke St, you would think this to be just as nice. Unfortunately, it is not as visually appealing, not very many trees, overall nothing too appealing compared to other streets in Port Melbourne.

Traffic is sometimes an issue, and as it stretches for quite a fair way, you do have to cross some other major roads.

Clark Street

"The hidden golden mile of Port Melbourne"

Clark Street is one of the hidden gems in Port Melbourne. Located on the west side of Bay Street, this is home to some of the nicest and largest homes in Port Melbourne. For those looking to be a little bit secluded from the hustle and bustle of Bay Street and Beaconsville Parade, this is your street.

To describe it would be an injustice to one the best that Port Melbourne has to offer, as only a casual stroll down the leafy and private street would make you realise just what a hidden gem this is. To top it all off, there is Clark Street Children's Centre to drop of little kids!!

If you can afford it, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LIVING HERE.

Wright Street

"Hard to go wrong in this area considering the location."

A very wide beautiful street. St Joseph's Church is on the corner, great access to the beach, and more of the homes are bit older. There are a lot of older people living in the street, so generally very quiet.

Closeness to the water and visual appeal gets this street a 4/5

mowens145

It's Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, not St Joseph's, on the corner of Richardson & Wright Sts.

Ahhh it is too mowens145, my bad.

U in Middle Park?

mowens145

Not any more. I lived in Langridge Street from 1956 till 1967. My grandparents lived at 82 Wright St until their death when my uncle owned the house until some time in the mid 1990's. Middle Park is unique in that it has a small town feel so close to the city. I still consider myself a Middle Parkite.

I totally agree about Middle Park, I honestly think it is somewhat still undiscovered a little bit, and I hope it stays that way.
