Riverview Road

"Once upon a time a Riverview"

Not so much a "river view" these days except for a lucky few at the northern end, but a wonderful, leafy district view across Carina Bay Reserve across to the ridge line of Como.

Riverview Road is a tidy, quiet street (it's a no-through road), with predominantly sloping blocks of varying pitch. A lot of beautiful, natural sandstone occurs on these blocks, lining the side of the valley that was carved out by Carina Creek as it meets what was shoreline of Scylla Bay, off the Georges River. Carina Bay Reserve now occupies a large part of the valley floor, and shares a boundary line with bocks on the lower / western side of Riverview Road. The reserve was apparently created many years ago by covering over a landfill site.

Jannali is nearby for eating out, and boasts 2 of nearly everything - 2x Italian, 2x Indian, 2x Chinese, and 2x Thai Restaurants, 3x bakeries, 2x Fish-n-chip shops, 2x take-aways, 2x supermarkets. There are also cafes, chemists, clothing stores, banks, a post office, and a train station. Jannali shopping village is an easy 15min walk from Riverview Road.

Also nearby are the Oyster Bay shops (10min walk), Como station (10 min walk), Como Pub / Marina / Pleasure Grounds / Bridge (15 min walk). You're also a short drive to Sylvania, Sutherland, Gymea, Kirrawee, Miranda (home to a Westfield shopping centre), Carringbah, and Cronulla.
