Ocean Reef

"Excellent suburb for families and close to beach life"

I moved to Ocean reef a year ago but only lived in Mullaloo, Its a large suburb which lacks any character unfortunately, as with many suburbs in WA community spirit is not always the highest and people lack civility sometimes. Ocean reef road on the weekends is full of hoons and very noisy cars screaming up and down. Beaches are stunning but beware of sharks as they are spotted in the area. Cost of living is ridiculous but its across the board in WA The house prices in O.R command a fair price dependant on view and location. Peak times for traffic around constellation drive and venturi are crazy but they have just finished widening the road lanes. Lovely parks everywhere - all doggy friendly pretty much, schools get decent reviews and good child care facilities. Nearest metro line is Ocean reef ( edgewater ) or further north ( currambine). Pest free as far as I am aware, 1 dog beach going south around 10 mins car drive and same going north ( quinns ). Eating out is getting better but there are no decent pubs in this area apart from the ocean reef marina club. If your lucky enough to live by the sea with ocean views like us then the reward is spectacular sunsets. On another note the area is north Perth and gets hot in summer but the sea breezes are a bonus. Internet is good in most areas of O.R with broadband. However with the surge of people coming into the area in recent years it has brought around an increase in litter. 30 mins drive to city going south.

Great for

  • Great for schools
  • Good shopping
  • Close to beach

Not great for

  • Very noisy main roads at weekend
