Treadwell Road

"Great place to live."

This street started life as the major road from Essendon Airport to the city of Melbourne. In 1954 on her first visit as Queen, Queen Elizabeth II traveled down this street on her way to Melbourne. In 1956 most of the Olympic athletes visiting Melbourne for the Olympics also traveled down this now quiet street.

Since the construction of the Tullamarine Freeway this street has now become a quiet suburban street with easy access to trams and freeway but without the traffic. It is rapidly being redeveloped for higher density living and is only meters away from a great variety of restaurants and cafes in Keilor Road.
