Avon St

"3 minutes from Glebe Point Road, a million miles from stress"

Avon St is one of the places you don't find unless you are looking for it. A one way street sloping down the hill, it starts with a small park at the top in Ferry Road and ends in Forsyth Street, just a stone throw to the off-leash Blackwattle Bay park. Most houses in the street have views of the Anzac Bridge, the city skyline or the Blackwattle Park. The Glebe Light Rail stop is a 2-minute walk away and so are buses on Glebe Point Road. There is a cluster of shops in Glebe Point Road between Ferry Rd and Forsyth St, including 2 small grocery stores, 2 bottle shops, a bakery, a fruit and veggie shop, a couple of cafes, a pizza place, a drycleaners and the Toxteth Hotel. Avon St is inhabited by a mix of people, including families with kids, older people, young couples and the odd eligible bachelor.
