Green Acres Court

"Handy to a lot of places, I found it was pretty much the centre of Melbourne,"

I found that travelling anywhere from here took at least 30 - 40 minutes. Straight down the freeway to the city, across town to Bayside suburbs or across to the other side Dandenongs or Cranbourne or Mornington Peninsula. This was one of the surprises of living here how central it was to get somewhere.
The street itself was noisy especially Fri, Sat nights with hoons racing up and down the street or flying past our front gate. Late night parties were also heard on these nights into the early hours with loud booming music.
Do not miss this place at all, lived here for 5 years, I did however enjoy walking around the new estates as most of them had done their gardens beautifully and it is a credit to the area. We moved from Cheltenham to live here and it really was a culture shock. Not many nationalities live here, mostly Australian and my daughter felt out of place as she is dark skinned and so is her boyfriend.
The local primary school walking distance for us 5 minutes refused to take my daughter and said they were full! So I had to drive her to the nearest primary 5 minutes by car Skye Primary School and I was not happy. Probably a good thing becuase they were all pretty stuck up anyway and thought there school was better than anyone elses when really they are all just mortgaged to the eyeballs so stick that.

Cliff Rd

"Great street reminds me of a holiday place"

Cliff Rd has some amazing homes on it with some costing up to $1.5 million and some around $600k . Some of the homes do need doing up as they were mainly built as holiday homes for wealthy Melbournians after the war, with some noted people of bygone era living here.
I bought here because of family renting in nearby William Street and I fell in love with the street. It makes me feel like I am holiday every day of the year here. I think it is the best street in Frankston South, but I am biased.

Great for

  • Walk to town
  • Close to beach 2 minute walk down a boardwalk staircase
  • Lovely views from Cliff Rd bottom end looking out over Oliver's Hill back to Melbourne

Not great for

  • Some cars drive too fast even though there are narrow islands installed

Wingrove Street

"Row after row of cream brick post war homes"

Really nothing special about this street. The best thing for me was it was walking distance to Cheltenham Secondary where my kids went. Cheltenham Secondary was a great school and well thought of in the area. Walk to Southland shopping centre took 10 minutes. Safe, quiet and mostly elderly neighbourhood. Great neighbourly spirit everyone checked on elderly neighbours and friendly local shops at Bernard Street.
Close to Waves Pool where I spent a lot of time. Great family area, but now prices are exorbitant.
What I missed most here was seeing some greenery as most houses had fences and not many trees in the street. I think this is what made me want to move in the end.
Beaches were only 10 minute drive down Warrigal Rd or Charmain Rd,

Not great for

  • Too close to factory area, but at least these were light industrial and didn't spew out fumes

Mount Martha

"The stuff dreams are made of"

What better place to bring up a family, Mt Martha really has it all. Green, peaceful, village atmosphere, great restaraunts, schools, hospitals, parks and beach close by. Moved here 7 years ago from an acreage property, where I thought was quiet and peaceful, until I came here. Must admit I do hate it when the tourists all converge on our private little oasis, but times like thses I avoid the maddening crowds.
Where I live on the top of Mt Martha hill, really is spectacular and just sitting up here watching the sunset over Port Phillip Bay, truly is awe inspiring. When I went on a whirlwind tour through US, UK and Greek Islands, I can honestly say that I missed this place more than anything.
Glad to call this place my home.
