Empire Bay

"The Swamp"

As a kid, Empire Bay was called "The Swamp" and still is many decades later - not only for the fact that you have to drive down what seems like a gully to get there, but also that the shabby narrow blocks flood with rain due to no curb and guttering - so lots and lots of mozzies and smells!!! The renters have got a sniff of how cheap it is to live in the hidden away fibros here, so full of boozy party goers - very noisy and can be unsafe at times!! There are now much nicer, safer more elite Bays and gorgeous Beach-side suburbs elsewhere on the Peninsula to live.

i have lived on the central coast all my life so 48 years, firstly avoca beach , then kincumber and now empire bay. i have never heard of empire bay being called the swamp, and as for mozzies go to davistown saratoga and get a taste of them there!!!!!!! never have heard any boozy parties.
empire bay is quiet, peaceful, and a real fishermans village, with a laid back lifestyle by all the residents, crime is near non existant, and is a beautiful place to go walking day or night. will never leave it.

Umina Beach

"A Green & Blue Haven is that of Greenhaven..."

Umina Heights Hillside is the place to be - on top of the world looking out to sea. Situated looking out over a lovely green, leafy vista with ocean blue views - this particular area is tranquility at it's very best. A hillside community with an extremely strong Neighbourhood Watch - if you are after a super quiet, peaceful, safe and neighbourly (family/retiree) area in Umina Beach, the hillside is the place to be. Close enough to the glorious sands of Umina Beach (15 minute leisurely flat walk) plus all that is available in the Umina Beach Shopping Precinct, but feels like a million miles away once up amongst the gum trees. A green and blue haven is that of Greenhaven.

Greenhaven Drive

"Peaceful Haven in an established older neighborhood, but with modern housing and facilities all within walking distance to shops, eateries, and the lovely long stretch of an uncrowded beach..."

Greenhaven Drive, Umina Beach is a relatively long (no through road) with well established houses to one end, together with lovely beach houses set high in peaceful private driveways, at the start of a hillside, at the other end - most of the homes have glorious views over the treetops and out to the ocean. It is most suited to families with a nice park situated on the corner of Greenhaven Drive and Brisbane Street, and has a strong Neighbourhood Watch and community feel. It is situated only a 15-20 minute leisurely walk to the glorious sands of Umina and Ocean Beach with its newly built surf clubs, and nicely renovated 4-star Ocean Beach Holiday Park. Plus there is an assortment of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, post office, chemists, doctors/dentists and a school all within this walking distance. The 41/2 Star Mantra Resort and the Ettalong Beach to Palm Beach Ferry is approximately 8-10 minutes drive away. The Woy Woy train station to Sydney CBD and Newcastle is approximately 10 minutes drive away. In summary :- although Greenhaven Drive is not in the hub of Umina Beach, it is in perfect proximity of everything Umina Beach has to offer, but without the bustling noise, cars and crowds!!
