Judit...all Sydney has history. Homebush all the way to Tempe has had toxic sites and remediation has been taken out to make them habitable again. They may never be exactly how they were before but that's ok. No one swims in Sydney Harbour and we arnt playing in the mud are we. Fortunately we have government in place that takes these things seriously without shortcuts like other countries may where corruption can rule. Australia is good in this way. Over regulated but it's not the worst thing.
The 25 year environmental clean up in rhodes, completed in 2014, was the largest in Australias history. But you know best. Keep up the good work. You sound like a lovely person.
"Small suburb but quite convenient!"
Nice suburb, close to every thing 15 km away from Sydney CBD, the train comes every 15 minuts on week days, it is quite convenient for students and the one who worked in city. Though there is no shopping center in North Strathfield but it is quite close to Burwood, Rhodes, Concord and Strathfield, you always have a lot of shopping options. There are some nice restaurants and cafes on George Street, if you just want to buy some Groceries, there is an Aldi and Harris Farm.

To all idiots who have bought apartments at Rhodes .The area at one stage was so toxic from waste dumped from factories you needed to wind up your car windows from the chemical smells. Now your units sit on top of what used to be factories and swampland. Rhodes was a cheap dump and no matter how grand you think your crackerboxes by the railway are, those who know it's history think otherwise.
