Lyneham

"Oasis in the Heart of the City"

Lyneham is located around 3 kms north north west of Canberra. It is home to the second oldest church in Canberra. It has a mix of older heritage homes and modern townhouses. It has wonderful tree lined streets and beautiful established gardens. It has much to enjoy including the many festivals held at EPIC some of which are the Royal Canberra Show, the National Folk Festival and Summernats. There are many scenic walking tracks, a thriving cafe culture and plenty of sporting facilities. It is the perfect place to raise a family without being far from the vibrant life of the city.

Oxley's claim to fame is that it is the smallest suburb in Canberra, covering an area of 1.08 km². It is located 15 kms south south west of Canberra. Due to its size it is almost exclusively a residential area. However, on the flip side nothing is too far away either. It is a well serviced area for all of the daily necessities and more. However, a car is needed to get around as public transport is a little lacking in the area.

Its setting amongst the mountains gives great scenic views. It is well serviced with all the daily necessities and is very affordable. However, the public transport to the area could do with improvement, especially considering the major housing developemnts that have taken place including the Eastern Valley Rise and The Landscape.
