I was invited to go visit my friend in Tarcoola Drive Yallambie who for some reason decided to rent a place of her own there for a bit of change. She raved on about how it's an up-coming suburb and that I should consider buying into another investment property there. She said that it is family friendly, in amongst trees and close to public transport. It sounded fantastic to me and I was genuinely excited to go visit. I thought that given it was close to Eltham that it would be lovely and serene........well my god.....it couldn't have been further from the truth. It was boring and ugly. Every house looks like they're stuck in the 70's with that terrible yellow beer bottle glass in the doorway and oil stains on the driveway from a tradesman's ute. I stayed over at her place and all I could hear from the neighbours was a bunch of bogans swearing at the top of there voices, smoking like chimneys and blaring Bon Jovi to 3am. And as for trees, well.....all I saw other than the occassional Gum Tree were those hideous Pine Trees. And the only public transport available close by are buses. For people who are genuinely interested in buying a property within this area......good luck. This place is probably only best for young 20 year olds who want to hang out with like-minded individuals. Not a good investment choice.
