Just moved into the area and I've already been harassed twice for cigarettes and once sexually harassed. Went for a walk on a nice warm night at 10 pm and a guy accosted me. He was trying to hug me, hold my hand and kept following me around not taking no for an answer. He said I made him feel good and I was his. It was incredibly frightening and I thought I was going to be attacked. It is a very dangerous and unsafe area if you are a female that likes to exercise by walking around and going to the parks. There are always men loitering around at night. I have seen syringes on the ground and in the mornings there is usually a lot of damage/vandalism that occurred during the night. I have seen large plants ripped out, council bins destroyed, graffitti, fences and posts destroyed. There are many people who walk vicious dogs with behavioural problems off lead in the parks. When I walk around the area there are aggressive dogs trying to get at me from behind fences in their yards and I am afraid of what will happen if they manage to get out. This area is the perfect example of how mixing housing commission houses in with general society does not work. That's not to say everyone in housing commission houses iare bad but in this area it is coming across that way to me. A lot of the area is unkept with weeds waist high. The house prices for this area are WAY over priced for the type of area it is. The only good I have to say about iRenown Park is it is close to the city and a convenient location, but then so are a lot of safer, nicer areas in Adelaide. I'm leaving as soon as I can, if I get out alive. If you don't believe me walk around after the sun goes down.
