Luckie Street

"Lucky to be on Luckie Street"

A very neighbourly spirit - pretty much everyone you pass by says hello. There is an even mix of nationalities and age groups in Luckie Street which makes it an interesting and multicultural place to live. Families like to take walks or ride their bikes with their children, often to the Tunstall park playground, which is a huge park area shaded by about 50 gum trees. The Whitehorse strip of shops makes it a fantastic location, not to mention being a minute away from the Eastlink and public transport. There are many choices for shopping, all about 5 minutes away, Tunstall shopping plaza, North Blackburn shops, Forest Hill shopping centre and Mitcham shops...take your pick! And a bit further out is Doncaster Shopping Town (less than 10 minutes on the Eastlink and up Tram road). It isn't a busy street but its not perfectly quiet either. It seems that so many people are buying into this area because overall its a great place to live.

Burnt Street

"Sometimes unsightly but not all unpleasant either"

While the flats can be unsightly and the streets may be untidy at times you always see people sitting outside chatting, children playing and people are generally friendly. The people are not wealthy to say the least but what they might lack in money they make up for in family unity and living by modest means keeps people more grounded. At least the children are outside playing instead of playing on the computer. The best part about the street is that it is very close to transport. A medical clinic, chemist and 7-11 are at the Springvale Road end of the street. There is also a small park for children to play and of course in the next street is the big and beautiful Tunstall park. Down the other end of Burnt street there are no flats, mainly houses and units and they are more pleasant looking.
