Thomas Street

"Water views, great parks, renovation central and friendly neighbours"

Thomas Street is one of the older streets in the area, between a prestige canal estate and a lakefront estate. The houses are a mixture of new and old and most yards have established trees. The area has a great neighbourhood vibe helped by the large numbers of young families and renovators.

Many of the houses have water views and one side backs onto a long park including a playground for the kids and a dog off-leash area. The other end of the street is Wellington Point High School. There are two state primary schools and a private school within walking distance. It is also close to Birkdale fair shopping centre, Wellington Point cafes and the Wellington Point hotel. Birkdale train station is only five minutes away.

The street currently seems to be undergoing a massive renovation with many houses being completely made over or even demolished and rebuilt. Many longtime residents seem to be moving out and many houses are changing hands without being put on the market officially.
