Settlers Way

"Everybody needs good neighbours"

Only moved in a month ago and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Lots of older couples and young families. I love the street. It is quiet and peaceful. It looks pretty, all the house are taken care of, and they are unique, so it doesn't look like leggo land. Lots of beautiful trees and greenery.

Great for

  • Great neighbours
  • Quiet and peaceful
  • Clean and green

Frankston South

"LOVE IT!"

Frankston South is wonderful. We moved here recently with our 2 young kids, the people are so friendly, the streets are clean and quiet, the school is great... the list goes on. It is removed from Frankston, so it doesn't have the same issues with safety around the train station or Frankston Nth, but it is close enough to the beach, shops and other activities for kids. I hesitated to move here because of the association with Frankston, but it was a complete misconception of what the area and people are really like. Even the ones who are struggling in Frankston/Frankston Nth, they're not 'bad' people, they've had a tough life. It's up to the people of Frankston Sth and Mt.Eliza to help bridge the gap! And if you want to avoid trouble then don't go near the station at night.

Great for

  • People are friendly and respectful
  • Great value for money for seaside living.
  • Beautiful views
  • Great schools
  • Everything
  • Quiet streets
  • Removed from the hub but only a few minutes if you want to go there

Not great for

  • Not much nightlife

Frankston

"Frankston is very diverse"

I always thought Frankston was somewhere to avoid but it is much cleaner than it used to be and well protected, especially the beach. During the day, we love to go to Frankston beach and playground. No I wouldn't hang around Frankston train station or Frankston Nth at night because there are some people who are homeless or struggling and unfortunately it can be scary. Saying that, I think it's important that we look after these people and don't turn a blind eye! Frankston South seems to be a more affluent area, bordering Mt. Eliza. Frankston South seems to be the complete opposite of Frankston Nth.

Great for

  • Frankston South is great!
  • Beachside suburb
  • Good value
  • Infrastructure & transport
  • Parks, beaches & facilities

Not great for

  • People's unwillingness to help!
  • Station at night
  • People's misconceptions
  • Shops on Nepean Hwy need freshening up
