Victoria Point

"A little piece of paradise"

Victoria Point is a little piece of paradise. There is no shortage of parks, restaurants, medical facilities and shopping centres. The cinemas are first class and there is easy access to some wonderful private schools. I personally have had no problems with the state primary school and if heresay is anything to go by the state high school has recently picked up it's game. The traffic can be a bit hectic in peak times but with the road improvements to Cleveland well under way that should be resolved soon. The buses are regular and it is an easy drive to Cleveland to the train station. The bikeways and walking areas are a delight and the people are really friendly. The night life is probably more suited to couples and families with a tavern, Sharks sporting club, cinemas and the resturants. The ferry to Coochie Mudlo is right at the point and the island itself is a great place for a day out with the kids and the grandparents. We are only about 5 minutes drive to Redland Bay which has access to a wonderful array of the Bay islands. Victoria Point is also perfect for boating and fishing for the water lovers. We have some great child care centres and the YMCA has a school holiday vacation plan that suits all ages. It can be a bit trying if you work in Brisbane city as the commute can take a while but then again driving home to a suburb which embraces family life is worth it. We have lived in Victoria Point for 20 years and have raised a family here and wouldn't have it any other way. I still have a teenager at home and he doesn't feel a lack of a social life at all as all of his friends are here and if they want to go further afield they simply hop on a bus. I would highly recommend Victoria Point as a place to live

Lou87 We moved to Brisbane (north west suburbs) and the only good thing about living here is the ease of commute to the city (one hour door to door on train). Otherwise, Victoria Point and the area surrounding is just wonderful compared to where we are at present for families in general: children, teenagers etc. We can't wait to get back there and start enjoying the great lifestyle the area offers. I'd rather have my soon to be teenage daughter "hang out" in the general area at Victoria Point than in Brisbane CBD any day. Brisbane CBD is not a place for young people today.
