Berrys Road

"Too far away from to many facilities for us"

Emerald is nice to visit. We lived here for 4 years and moved as it just didn't suit our lifestyle. I didn't like having to get into my car to drive everywhere, they lack of shopping meant prices were inflated, and non existant public transport was a real issue. Also not a fan of the local public schools or medical clinic. I think Emerald may suit retirees best :)

Great for

  • Big blocks
  • Great birdlife

Not great for

  • Fire prone area

Emerald

"family friendly, beautiful surroundings and clean fresh air"

Emerald is a wonderful place to bring up your young children, with more parks and forests to explore then you can imagine.
No good restaurants though, and not one cool bar in sight!!!
so in a few words, great for a family but totally sucks for a young couple, unless you like driving everywhere....

A great little village, far enough away from the city to enjoy a clean, green lifestyle..

Upwey

"great family lifestyle, far enough away from the city, traffic and concrete jungles, but still accessable!"

My husband and I moved to upwey 3 years ago from inner city melbourne, we wanted some land & a large family house we could grow into. Have not looked back, we love Upwey and have come to really love the 'easy' lifestyle it affords us!
The air is fresh, people are friendly and dont judge you by the car you drive!! It really is a lovely place to bring up your children.
Being at the 'foothills' of the ranges also gives you the choice of lots of different schools in Melbourne, lots of places to visit and if you need anything Knox is only 15 mins away!

We love it, you get so much for your dollar - i dont think we could ever live inner burbs now, not only would we have to downsize considerably but I just dont think i could do the noise/crowds thing again!
