terrific schools - some of the best primary schools around, and good secondary schools, and can generally move from one to another without too much hassle. Trains have just been upgraded, and a new restaurant is opening every week seemingly.

If you want a quiet leafy suburb full of doctors, chain stores, take-away standard restaurants, and welcoming average australians, then Caringbah has it all. Easy trips to town (although the train trip is slow) for the more up-market restaurants and wine bars. And local pool at Lilli Pilli, and quick trip to Cronulla beaches. I have frequently left my house unlocked (latchkey kids!) and never any sign of vandalism or other delinquency. Quite bemused by previous review of lawlessness - perhaps would advise to keep away from the flats west of the station.
